He looks ****ed now, there's no point running him into the ground with the promise of time off in the future. As a fair amount t of us on here will know, you can still be fit as you get older, but recovery time takes longer and longer. He needs a week to get over the effort of one game.
It's not about the match as far as the lads at Salford are concerned, it's more about **** stirring. "Some City fans have considered arriving on Merseyside early to line the route to the stadium in an attempt to prevent any repeat." "But Guardiola insists it should not be necessary." Surely if that happened it would be a recipe for hooliganism and should be condemned but nope. Anyway the route is secret. Naby Keita fitness update Naby Keita could be available for Sunday's clash with Manchester City – with Liverpool set to assess the midfielder's fitness today. The No.8 was taken off midway through the first half of the midweek Champions League tie against Napoli due to back pain and taken to hospital for precautionary checks. Jürgen Klopp was asked for an update on Keita at his pre-match press conference and replied: “Not 100 per cent sure, he had a back spasm. So we have to wait a little bit. “He will be in today; if he can do something on the training ground, I don’t know. I spoke to the Doc this morning but he didn’t know. We have to see him again in a few minutes and then we will make a decision about that. “We don’t know in this moment as well if he can train tomorrow, we have to see. It didn’t look too serious, so there’s a chance but we don’t know.” https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team/319780-naby-keita-fitness-update
For me this is a by all means try to win but just don't lose this. If we come out of this and go to internationals for a pause of breath on top of tanle with city and chelsea i think we should be pleased enough. We've a decent set of fixtures coming... very decent.
Do you think the team are leggy or has klopp held them back a bit from all out attack? This was always going to be a tough run of games, if we avoid defeat to City, then I think it's been a reasonable set of results.
City have fitted their bus with 15 special spy cameras to try and avoid a repeat of the attack from Liverpool fans when they last visited Anfield in April for the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final.
Their paranoia just shows their actual fear of playing us on the park. We have become their nightmare
Serious question: How do you go about making sure you "just don't lose"? The phrase smacks of a defensive mind-set, which we clearly aren't very good at. Surely the only way to play is to go for it and see what happens?
Playing for a draw is dangerous. Sometime you have to go for broke, by that they fear, and fear. Napoli did that to us and won.
Not like mourinho.... Imo you want that bit extra effort to win the ball, retain it better than just kicking it forward speculatively, bit of common sense on the over lap... keeping the lines together. I suppose it is everything that you need to do just to play well. There's a bit of game awareness in there too. Don't get caught out positionally. It's not sit deep and defend imo, more it's stay together and make options for man on ball.
We've been kind and put the one in vvds pocket so they don't lose Aguero There's no hope for sterling though. Robertson has blacked out the cctv down that alley.
‘I had it last week after we drew at Chelsea, when I turned to Maurizio Sarri and he was smiling, and he looked at me and said “you enjoyed that, eh?” and I was like, “Yeah, actually I do”. ‘I have to say I loved that game, this was a very good game – and the City games were good games. I’ve said it a few times, and I’ll say it again, I really think the most important thing, the most important job, of football is entertaining the people. ‘Because it’s only football, it’s nothing else, we don’t save lives. We don’t plant anything, create anything, we are not good in surgeries, whatever. We are only good in football. If we don’t entertain the people why are we playing then?
