Not the best of sources, but it'll be interesting if true. Rumour has it Usmanov was annoyed with the lack of trophies at Arsenal, so Charlton would logically be the next stop . Seriously, if he has ambition and a willingness to back it, all well and good, we are withering here in tier 3. But after so many rumours, I'm sure you all understand why the bubbly isn't going in the fridge just yet.
A classic from BexleyBoy He knew about this all along ...apparently “Richard Harris” stitched the Aussies up by working for another buyer as well. #moron
The spokesman from the Aussie camp has said he is taking the Usmanov story "with a pinch of salt" The irony...
So five parties interested in buying the basket case but Fawaz has been fvcked off. The Aussies STILL haven’t lodged their papers Is it stuck up their arses or what ? It’s very hard to believe this stuff.
Same old bullshit. In my opinion there is no take-over. The Club isn't even really for sale. It doesn't take 18 months to sell a London Club. Any idiot knows that. Duchatelet has just used that lie to kill the last of the noisy protests while he cuts costs to near zero. After a few seasons with 5,000 fans or fewer coming to the Valley he can make a valid case for selling it. In the meantime the continuing losses (limited by cut costs and player sales) are still useful to his wider business interests for some kind of tax purposes. If his cost cutting sends CAFC into League 2 he won't mind - running costs are even lower there, crowds will be even smaller and there is no will to stage mass protests anymore. A few years from now even selling the Valley will only bring out a few hundred disheartened protesters for one last farewell rally. RD is reducing what was a Championship football Club to non-league size. Charlton Athletic will be on a par with Welling United by the time the old scrote has finished with it.
So the Aussies are “genuine but complicated” Completely the wrong type of people to be owning our football club It would be management by overseas committee
