Bottom line is, apart from PSG (and maybe a half fit Spurs) we've played trash cans until Chelsea. Reality is biting now - we haven't passed the ball properly nor made the right decisions in the final third all season.

Right last moan of the evening, I'm starting to get on my own nerves.

I lost count of how many passes went astray apart from when mane or firmino had the ball when a pass any pass would of been better than head down run like ****.

It's the manner in which we lost that annoys me.

Of course it is not a crisis...yet. Let’s hope it is not the beginning of a pattern we’ve seen so often since the inception of the premiership. We start well and we drop off as the season develops. Three points off the top might not be that much but bearing in mind we are chasing a formidable team with a massive GD we have to do everything to avoid a defeat, even if it means playing a cautious defensive game.

That's the last thing we should do.

    More Hodgson than Rodgers, imo.

The worse performance we’ve had this season. Let’s hope this is a one-off.

If we play like that against City, we will be slaughtered. Klopp has to drop Salah.

for me this group now hinges on whether pgs can hammer Napoli for us twice.

if we get that favour from them (by no means assured) and we beat red star twice (not happening on this display)

then the group can go to

    lfc 9
    psg 9
    napoli 4
    read star 1

as we have now lost to Napoli they are absolute red alert danger to us as we now must finish one point ahead of them or beat them at home

    say psg draw 1.

    best case then

    lfc 9
    psg 7
    Napoli 5

we have got to go to pay away... after tonight that's very tough.

this group now goes to last game where a win for Napoli puts us out.

have to move on now and beat red star... have to.

for me again lads need to look how deep the defence and midfield is compared to strikers.

there's no way midfield can get up there in time.

we need to get the team.playing closer together

and for the love of god pass it not just knock it forward. we never gave ourselves a chance today..

Utter bollocks. We beat Napoli at Anfield and they need to match or PSG result (ignoring other fixtures of course)

Exactly, it's not our game and nor should it be.
Also, playing defensively against City is what too many teams try - and fail - to do.

Hendo as the 6 and Gini as the 8 simply does not work. Pleas just switch them around!!

They played 87 passes between them - only 12 were forward.

Our attack were poor but they were badly let down by the midfield.

Constantly passing back to our defenders, expecting them to create.

This is cloud cuckoo land. There is only a very slight chance we’ll finish ahead of PSG. Our realistic aim will be to finish second above Napoli. So we have to wish that PSG pulverise the other two.

How good is Joe Gomez becoming? Seriously, he’s playing at such an incredible level right now.

Even though VVD struggled with his touch and passing, his fundamental defending was really good.

Alisson made some big saves as well.

Very impressed with Gomez too. Napoli’s manager had the measure of Klopp. I wished Klopp made his subs sooner. To leave Sturridge only 4 minutes is almost ridiculous especially when we know that he can turn the match in a moment of magic.

God knows what Klopp was thinking. Tactics were awful.
