That was reminiscent of Rodgers team performance. We offered nothing in midfield or up front. I would seriously consider dropping Salah against City and play Shaq. I hope Kieta is fit or our midfield will not get a look in. Milner looked knackered from the start tonight.

Gomez was superb but in principal it was a good idea. Shaqiri in midfield would have been an idea.

Also TAA needed a talking to - under the cosh for half an hour and he’s at the half way line every time Allison has the ball!

We are weeks into the season, we've added to the squad, why do get the feeling that we are threadbare already.

We got what we deserved...absolutely nothing. We were very poor and Napoli completely dominated the second half. Salah is just a shadow of himself and deserved to be dropped. He couldn’t hit a barn door with a banjo at the moment. Never mind his record of last season. Let’s not beat about the bush: He is currently the poorest striker in the premiership. It is time to give Sturridge a run in the team.

City is now a must win. A defeat or draw will mean 4 consecutive matches without a win and the early optimism disappearing.

Just remember though - in 2010 that **** was week in week out <laugh>

Klopp will get in to them and learn from it himself - a different attitude entirely for City

Keita was awful in the short space of time he had. Gave the ball away stupidly at least 3 times in the first 10-12 minutes. If he'd have stayed on I imagine he'd have had as poor a game as the rest of the sorry lot.

This is a shout, we need someone to link up the middle and the front, plus he can hold the ball in tight spaces, at the minute he's the best we've got.

Lose to City and we're 3 points off top. Not a crisis. Let's not overreact to losing to a very good Napoli side.
A point at the bridge was an excellent result so let's not play it down. The City game can go either way hopefully ours but nothing is broken regardless.

He looks decent enough don’t he, it’s clear Milners levels couldn’t be sustained tonight and now with Keita out... he needs to play

If he wants to play in midfield then he needs to have a chat with klopp, not use rightback as the starting point and then **** his defensive duties off, hoping Gomez will cover because he's quick.

Dire. No win in three now - is this our true form?

    My ratings:

Allison: 8 Could have been a cricket score, but it was his fault we lost the ball in the passage of play that led to the goal

TAA: 4 Gave the ball away on occasions to numerable to count. Overhit every cross when he got forward.

Robbo: 5 Worst game in a red shirt. Apart from being caught out of position (like TAA) several times, I saw him TWICE, when we were under pressure, just blithely pass the ball to a Napoli player on the edge of our box. ****e.

Virgil: 4.5 His worst game for distribution too. I'm hoping that early knock didn't injure him. Moribund at best.

Gomez|; 7.5 A rock, and really didn't deserve to be on the losing side.

Windy: 5 Okayish first half, without creating a thing. Anonymous in the second.

Milner: 5 Need more than being an endurance runner at this level. As in Kiev, his mediocrity stood out.

Kaeta: 6 Was doing some good runs before that injury.

Bobby: 6 Best of the front three. Let down by Salah on at least three occasions in that game.

Mane: 5 Showed great strength and pace to win the ball in several threatening positions... then just stopped. Terrible decision making, but a couple of decent balls that Mo wasted.

salah: 4 having a mare. He will get better, but should have been hooked with 15 minutes left.

    Subs:

hendo; 6 Workmanlike as always when a bit of magic was needed. Banal.

Fab: 5 Somehow we looked even more shaky when he came on. Did make a couple of interceptions though.

Jurgen: 4 The substitution of Keta couldn't be helped, but Studge with three minutes left? WTF? If anything, we came out in the second half worse than the first. Tripe.

Team: 5.5 But only because Ally and Jo Go raised the average.

Decent Napoli side, but they looked clueless in possession and could have had more clear cut chances.

But we offered nothing. That's how poor we were

BT pundits are so full of ****, they are still talking as if we'll walk this group. It's never that easy and this result does open things up. Glad I don't pay for this ****.
