I forgot to add that I wasn't expecting it but it was a fantastic turnout by our travelling faithful considering recent performances. We nearly filled our corner of the ground and I reckon there was upwards of 1,500 there.
Had us down for a 1-1 draw but i'm, happy to forgo my lofty mid to lower position on the prediction thread and see us win away, great stuff! I'm starting to like our captain very much.
A good 3pts, a decent display, the best passing I've personally witnessed this season and Luongo had a good game. They were without doubt the worst team to date. What did frustrate me was going defensive to hold the 1 goal victory. It worked, granted but is so nearly didn't aswell.
Yes. That,s the difference between Fernandes and say Watford's owners who have always chosen managers who were not well known rather than a CV based on someone else 's ability as a manager. They make judgments on the basis of research not basked glory.
Well it didn't start too well. No one told me it was an 8o'clock kick off. So consolled myself with a of Bovril....eventually the QPR faithful came to join me....and we seemed to fill our end. Songs of " your grounds too big for you" was certainly true last night.also they have the most annoying middle class toffy- voiced announcer, contrary to reports they did announce our team, but only once a long time before the match. Got to say we started like a train, and Eze should have scored in first 5 minutes. We really dominated the first half. Really do not think they had any shot on goal. Where we had quite a few, but there was certainly that feeling that our team just could not score.. made for a nervous half time. But we continued where we left off, and a period of intense pressure after a corner led to captain courageous slotting the ball home. Then of course we retreated in to our shell and let them come onto US. Think 999s has forgotten there main threat when a mazy run through our defence the forward shot perfectly passed Lumley to see it rebound to Lynch to hack it away...the shot from the resulting corner also skimmed (the outside) of the post. So who played well...everyone. The full backs had problems later on...as they did not really have cover. Luongo did well as did Cameron. Exe was quiet... Cousins is the interesting . I see why Steeve likes him. He was really busy, but he does make a lot of mistakes, and that is what the fans pick up on.. The BFG and Lynch led by example yesterday. They were my MOTM. For a match I was dreading. It all turned rather well. Except for this mornings headache....it must have been the Bovril
3 points and move on Hoping the manager can build on this Agree with Bob passing was a lot better maybe they looked at Swans game If we can keep the bloody ball then life becomes so much easier especially away from home ... last night was not a test as Reading are in serious trouble imo that Clement bloke is worse than SM imo Derby will be a different test Mass must start playing and imo he needs the rat alongside to do so ... SM is wrong imo to even be thinking about selecting Cousins The heart of this side is Scowen and Mass with Freeman on the ball as much as possible Eze has to be everywhere and he needs to learn this fast as he does have a wonderful composure on the ball as all number 10s must have .... they move at a different pace to the game If the hair island starts with his stupid ideas about football then expect another blip in performances again last night wasn’t a test imo because of the opposition
Forgot to mention a break away of real note... ball passed from defence to Eze who out run the 3 defenders..who followed him to the left, giving ample space for Wells to run in centre...and shoot against the outstretched leg of their goalie. Anywhere else, at any other speed and it would have been goal of the season. ...but it fully supports my theory that half our defensive problems are down to the fact that our forwards can't score Sent from my STF-L09 using Tapatalk
Best move of the game. Started by a great Lynch clearing header to Wells who set up Eze and ran a long way for that sublime return pass to him. Shame he couldn't finish it. But it ended well and I'll enjoy the highlights.
3 points so happy enough, lack of creating decent chances was the biggest concern for me especially considering how poor they were. If there was a heap more confidence throughout the side I really think the score line could have been way more convincing.
Credits to the Ref yesterday for seeing their diving in the box and giving 2 yellows. Reading weren't good at all but they did lose their top scorer Bødvarsson in the warm up, and their No 3 Yiadom and Mitte caused us problems and will cause others the same I think.
He clearly would have given another yellow... but bottled it because the player would have been sent off
After the night before... Thought it was a much better performance from QPR. We moved about with more urgency and may I say a few crisp bits of passing. I never once thought Reading would score until we went all defensive and invited them onto us. Eze sometimes looks a little lightweight and at times shows his inexperience, however I would still want him in the team. I also think we lack something in midfield, something more creative than what we have, someone to put a killer pass through to the forwards. I thought Reading looked tired. Maybe Brentford took it out of their players on Saturday, I don't know but they are a poor side. I found out after the game that their top goal scorers were out through injury. I still don't think they would have beat us with them as their set up looks weird. Bullet dodged with Clement I think. Anyway, the performance may not have set the world on fire but it's another 3 points. If we had lost everyone would be calling for 'Island heads' head, not to mention our league position but today I feel quite a happy R.
Yeah, I was going to say that I thought it was Wells that played a good ball through to Eze and then made a lot of ground to get the return pass. It would have been an excellent goal if the final effort was better
Nice surprise to wake up this morning and see we'd won. We do seem to be a bit of a Jekyll & Hyde team at the moment, but it's important that we are winning games against teams we need to beat. Wigan, Bolton, Millwall and Reading are all teams who should finish in the bottom half so taking points off them is essential and winning rather than drawing has pushed us clear of the danger zone for now...
Watford I saw 2 Reading fans videos on Twitter and it was good comic value. One guy went on for about 10 minutes virtually crying. The other I will find and post. I still have a drumming in my ear from the muppets to our left with that drum.
