We might take him on loan for two weeks, that's how long his form usually lasts at a new club. Alex Dyer is Steve Clarke's assistant manager at Killie, he'll have Ajose's card marked.
Great quote from Gobbo on 5Live tonight. Oxford v Man City is the commentary game. Oxford have got “the worst designed stadium in the country” That will be the excuse for later then.
“Robinson’s tactics are not best suited to managing in the lower leagues He likes to play in a certain way”
A mate asked me who Robinson was earlier, tried and failed to describe him without using the words ‘fat scouse cvnt’
Typical Robinson ...he managed to p1ss Pep Guardiola off with his big mouth after last night’s game, describing Man City kid Phil Foden as a “genius” and “Iniesta like”. Guardiola rightly responded “these are big words” (from a big cvnt) and that they would just put pressure on a kid. He never learns
Funny that. Even creeping round the opposition manager he manages to wind the guy up. Seriously, can't he take his personality show and hide it, and just try to manage a team somewhere without this torrets-like desperation to get in front of a microphone and talk. I don't hold any sort of grudge against the man. He did his best here and it wasn't enough - it happens. But he needs to try to get the management stuff right before he starts auditioning for MOTD.
With Oxford v Man City being the commentary game on 5 Live, the commentator had clearly had to submit himself to the ordeal of a pre match interview with Gobbo As well as his comment about the stadium, Gobbo mentioned the lack of atmosphere in the ground ...at which point Martin Keown interjected with the interesting observation that such comments from a manager risk demoralising a club and it’s fans. Ian Dennis on 5 Live also said that Gobbo had claimed Oxford had 5 key players currently out injured #soundsfamiliar Martin Keown later commented during the game that Oxford had some talented players - he mentioned their Centre backs - but that the team did not play to their strengths
We play them at the Valley on October 23rd, it would be great if Gobbo is still in charge then. But we play three more matches before that one, so presumably Oxford do as well. Indeed Oxford may have four games to play before they meet us, as I doubt they have the International break weekend off. Unless their form improves (which we don't want, seeing as we cannot beat teams who are playing well) Gobbo will surely be sacked before October 23rd.
I've just been looking at the Oxford United website, and it seems Karl Robinson has drafted Ian Wright in to work with their strikers. Gobbo does love a gimmick and a smokescreen.
