Still got this ****ing calf strain. It's easing up, so I can walk along the beach, swim etc.
But no cycling or surfing for over a week now, starting to wind me up

I had a calf strain earlier this year. Slipped while out sledging with my daughter. Thought I’d ****ed my knee at first but then the calf started to ache. Assumed it would be a 1-2 week job but was in quite a lot of pain for weeks. Spoke to a GP friend and she said that if it’s a severe strain you’re looking at 3 weeks minimum, could be as much as 6 weeks. You’re welcome.

I've still got a few Tramadol lying around from when I trapped a nerve in my back a few years ago. Have been tempted to take them and say **** it, but I know I have to let this strain heal, otherwise it's going to come back to haunt me. Should be okay in a week or two. Just frustrated at the lack of time in the saddle and the surf.

This has been two weeks, starting to ease up now. But I reckon another week at least before I can push it.

Yeah it’s the only thing for it with nerve impingement. I was necking tramadol like a ****er. Funny drug that though, it doesn’t so much take the pain away, more like makes you not give a **** about it.

It was a great idea to unstick this thread, fair play.

Far better that every thread is an argument about 'politics', the board is so much better.

Anyway, not been to the gym in weeks but have started running. Quite into it too, including a bit of cross country inot very one. I'm still ****e but getting better, I can see why people become obsessed as I just want to improve.

Got some bug or other at moment that has hit my runs, although might go for a little couple of miles later as a tester.

There's an open gym here at where I'm working (on a Uni campus), brilliant facilities, might have to join.

They've all just come back so it's busy as ****. The fanny though, **** me!!

I've got a strap, seems to be holding up at the minute.

I'm not going that far at the moment and things do start to hurt by the end of the run. I'll have to see how it goes, if the pain starts to kick in way before I'm due to finish then I guess running isn't my thing!

Yeah I've been using a knee support thing for everyday use currently

With me the fluid and therefore "looseness" of the knee has messed something else up too apparently.

Will hopefully know more after scan.

Like every Tuesday for the last year or so I'm in the boxing club. Not me but my lad, I've evolved from a bystander to a ****ing p/t coach. Good fun though and good age group at the moment. Got one lad that's pretty special, tearing his age group to pieces.

Well not overweight as in fat, just could lose maybe a stone.
