He might be gone before they come to us next week! http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/02092011/58/championship-mcclaren-verge-quitting-forest.html
He's going to jump before he is pushed. They must have been crazy to appoint him. I am delighted to say I can't see them being anywhere near the top half this season. Coming from Leicestershire I hate them more than Pompey.
New manager syndrome? Hmm... could be, but they might not appoint before our game if McClaren hangs on until the middle of next week.
Ahhh Steve McClaren....what a guru, speaks English and English with a dodgey Dutch accent. I guess most people have seen it, but here it is anyway....what a douchebag.
^^^ he starts off in broken English then kinda breaks into 'it' (whatever it is, french/dutch=Frutch?) 20 secs in and embraces it, ha! "how do you expect the reaction in England will be," she asks When he went to Florest he was obviously pormised/expected money, soorry Stheeve but der tulips have whiled fer shure, I think
No, just generally when a team loses/appoints a manager, they do well against us. It breathes new life into the team, let them stagnate for one last week.
Guys and Gals why are we interested in this guy at all?.......Are we so hard up for news that we will talk about another teams fortune...or lack of it maybe? I don't understand the fascination for this bloke and why we need to discuss him here?? Sorry.......
Indeed. I would make one observation though, and that there are two basic types of manager, when finding themselves in the Notts Forest scenario. One who realises the situation isn't quite as rosy as he hoped and damn well gets down to the uphill task, and there's the other one who whinges and then eventually gives up and bails out. I'll leave it to others to decide which category McClaren falls into. I know the vast majority of us think managers like Sir Alex Ferguson are fantastic achievers, and it's true, but it's a damn sight easier when every player you have on your books is just about the best available. The real heroes are the ones who do it for practically nothing, and have to inspire alsorans to perform every week. Like Dario Gradi, for example. I wonder where that puts our Nige..? EDIT: BTW, I understand he's staying at Forest, so we may see him yet. Anybody got any Dutch chants..?
Watching that Youtube clip is almost embarrassing in its comic value. Apparently what McClaren is demonstrating there is quite a common trait in people, in that he is subconsciously trying to fit in, so he talked to the female Dutch interviewer with an odd camp Dutch delivery. I would imagine he's pretty awful at fitting in normally. Must be a gas at parties, I don't think.
