My understanding is that the MKM/Bonus thing largely comes from more junior employees of the respective companies putting two and two together and getting 19. The Duffen thing has legs. He's desperate to get back in at City and he seems to have the financial backing this time. I don't think it's as close as many others do. However, Duffen knows better than anyone the Allams' penchant for moving the goalposts at the last minute and he obviously thinks it's still worth pursuing. I don't know who the backing is from. The rumours are Chinese money, but the state in China is cracking down on vanity purchases so I wouldn't take that as read. He's been linked with an American consortium in the past (when I interviewed him for my book in 2016) so that may be a possibility. Expect him to be our CEO if he does broker a deal though.
Totally agree on the junior employees but my mate text me last week and said city had been sold to MUM i replied it's a false rumour so he sent a message back saying " no it's been confirmed my niece works there and they had been told today" I just replied ok

It was said that the rumoured takeover included the odious pair of twats taking the last parachute payment. Though we have had that many false rumours I’m not sure we would be that lucky. I just wish they’d **** off. From the club and area.
