How the ref missed the penalty claim seconds before for a shove in the box. It looked a clear penalty to me.
Just watched highlights. Clever from Martin. Steps across the defender to win a penalty. Watch the defender as he goes toward the ball; did nothing wrong at all. We got done by a similar one a few games ago (can't remember which match it was) when our defender was simply trying to clear the ball but their striker stepped across him. What goes around .....
I hope Martin has his yellow card rescinded. The one where he was trying to block Randolph. One of the most ridiculous decisions I’ve ever seen.
I was surprised when the ref gave the penalty - it did look like a fairly gentle push but we'd seen constant pushing, often more obvious, throughout the game going unpunished. Until that point the officials had looked pretty weak and had given some strange decisions. I think Martin's yellow was very harsh but I don't think yellow cards are ever rescinded. However, the strangest decision of all came when the ref made Marshall retake a dead ball kick for no obvious reason - did anyone work that one out?
Good point against a fairly poor side - Boro won the physical battle by constantly barging our players aside when the ball was pumped up the field - the ref let most of it play on for some reason - I think we played well as a team and bringing Irvine into the centre alongside Henriksen worked well - dropping Stewart definitely improved things - I cant make my mind up whether he's having a prolonged crap spell or whether he's just crap - much improved overall performance and everyone looked up for it - unfortunately we've already seen this type of performance followed by a false dawn - lets hope we start to push on rather than flatter to deceive
Because the ball was in play, Martin ran in front of Randolph before he kicked it out his hands. Randolph ended up kicking Martin instead (by accident). DR then rolled around like a twat (so did Martin to be fair) and got booked.
Fairly certain only red cards can be reacinded or appealed .. yellows there is no appeal process or subsequent rescinding .. piss poor i know
Can anyone confirm if Marshall’s save was a wonder save or just routine one. Then been overrated by the masses because of the state and stage of the game?
Hardly Banks Vs Brazil or Montgomery Cup Final standard but a decent save nonetheless. He's working hard to redeem himself is Marshall.
Not routine given the score, and the time on the clock, and the previous history, and the **** he’s had before from people (me included on occasions) Taking this into account it was a wonder save, and I hope it helps him get his confidence back In the middle of our goal...
I'm sure I once read that a yellow card can only be rescinded if there's a case of mistaken identity? I wouldn't put my house on it though.
There player went into the box before the ball had left it . Think that is not allowed . Stops an attacker intercepting a goal kick by standing close to the keeper or players would just stand in front of the goalie . At a free kick you must be 10 yards from it so it's a similar scenario .
