I have reminded myself forcefully to stop tipping optimistically as of now theghost has spirited his way into a clear lead, but, of course, leagues are not won in September, so anything is still possible. Akureyrar has jumped up into 3rd but the highest riser of the week was Frenchie whose 126 points rose him from 17th to 6th. Other high scorers were Barry (120) and Hackney with 111. As can be seen I have inserted our guest from the BBC. - I didn't want him to feel lonely outside.​

All change at the top this week as Chris moves into poll position with 101. Quite a few high scorers this week with Andy scoring the highest with 153, which moves him up into 3rd from 12th, and gives him the family bragging rights for the moment. Zen was also a high riser moving from 9th up to 4th. Altogether 7 posters topped the 100 mark this round - as usual I wasn't one of them.

Early season form continues as do the Hornets! Let's hope it continues but I have more faith in the team than my luck on predictions!

The highest scorer of the round was our guest from the BBC. with an impressive 191. This is with Bournemouth v Crystal Pal. still to come tomorrow night (he has 2-1 for Bournemouth), judging by our scoring it could be the first ever 200+ score. For the sake of clarity he gets double scores for Watford results and, because I don't know where he would place his joker, it goes on his Liverpool tip - because of him being an ex player of theirs. Obviously he doesn't tip exactly the same matches as we do - we had Bologna v Udinese instead, and so his scores are not an exact comparison to ours. I am using his tips like a hare in greyhound racing - and will withdraw him from the table at the end, unlike in the World Cup league where he tipped exactly the same games as we did.

Hornet of the day was Frenchie with a score of 152, which bumped him up into second, behind Chris. Other high scorers were NZ with 146, and Bodbo with 138. Elsewhere Matej and Seb both caught up points on their Dad, and him that does the scoring continues in freefall ​

From 1st to 20th in 4 weeks! Can we have a downhill skiing prediction league?

 

But it seems so tight this year that you can recover and get back up there within a few weeks just as others can come back down!

 

I'm astonished. Not with my minor achievement, but with our muppet guest. No skill in the world would have got us losing 2-0 at the emirates on the play!
He should get -25 whenever Liverpool don't win. Equally, all our lot should have any points gained by successfully predicting a WFC lost SUBTRACTED !

A lower scoring week this time with only 2 of us topping the hundred mark, both on 106, myself courtesy of an Italian joker, and Brian courtesy of a missed penalty at Anfield, which moves him into 3rd. A third Chelsea goal put Frenchie into top place with a round's score of 95. Elsewhere Matej has jumped ahead of his Dad and has earned the bragging rights for the week ahead. Our guest from the BBC showed that last weekend was a one off.

All change at the top this week with a few very high scores, against a backdrop of mostly very low ones. Highest scorers were Chris with 132, which moves him into poll position and theghost with 146, moving up into second. Commiserations for Charlie with the third highest score of 110, but dropped a place. Elsewhere I rose 2 places on the back of a 48 score, which appears strange but it just worked out that way. On the whole a low scoring week, where those few optimists who had the Horns down for 2-0 really profited.

Another change at the top as the highest score of the day (143) spirited theghost into top place. All 3 top places scored highly, and are now opening up a bit of a gap. Elsewhere Hackney moved into 6th, from 15th with the second highest score of 127, with Bodbo also moving up well with 115. Matej is now winning the family battle, and has due bragging rights there. Apart from the top 5 places it's all very close and so good (or bad) weeks can still make a great difference to the placings.
