I’m not sure that there are any first case artificial pitches, are there? There’s been a lot of concern about increased injury rates with these pitches. I played on artificial grass in the states, admittedly some years ago now. Burns were a real hazard with the, take the skin right off you
I used to train/play on the all weather surface at Crystal Palace Sport Centre. You didn't want to go in for any sliding tackles on that. The current generation of artificial surfaces are completely different and rugby is being played on some. I've never tried it, though.
That’s the problem, or was, or those pitches; you’re traveling at speed and you get clipped. The results on the skin on your legs are not pretty.
I noted this with Hazard yesterday in the Chelsea v Liverpool match. He was fouled, slid on his knees and lost a load of skin. Makes you wonder what the surface is like at Stamford Bridge. Looks nice and there's clearly grass there, but what's underneath it?
A bit like the club itself, it looks nice and there's clearly a football team there but what's underneath it? In this case the difference is that we know what's underneath it. A Dubious Russian Billionaire. The real question is what will happen to Chelsea after him.
Noooooooooooooooooooooooooo. I was there the night he went in goal, Barney would do better. We all chanted 'England, England's No. 1 when he fumbled a daisy cutter.
Barney would make a fantastic keeper - there's no way of kicking a football past him and he can catch extremely well. Where do I sign?
