A very comfortable win in the end, with many of the Americans unable to handle a challenging course with narrow fairways and punishing rough. It's not over yet, though. I need Noren to hang on to his 1 hole lead so that I win my bet on Mickelson and DeChambeau to get zero points between them. Come on Alex!
Never been a golf fan and only ever played once or twice and that was only pitch and putt. However, listened to the opening commentary I was captivated by the energy from the crowd so followed it a bit at times. Possibly will follow with more interest next year. Great to see Europe beating the USA who tend to assume they will win everything.
The Ryder Cup, The Presidents Cup are great formats and give the viewer / golf fan much more to look at and to think about than your standard golf tournament. I was pleased that Tiger has worked hard to get back to winning again but he’s blown it from my point of view, with his bad sportsmanship and foul mouth with the commentary team. A great sports person knows how to win but an even greater one knows how to lose with grace. Tiger had proven to be a bad sport over a long time. Like the Williams sisters..... nice as pie when they win but pathetic sore losers.
All the hype at his win last week was over the top, it was a 30 man field with no cut, cushy tee times and a typical US 'target' golf course with little penalty for wayward shots, perfect for Tiger. On the Ryder Cup course anything off line found unforgiving rough or water, Tiger got found out, he's a shadow of the player that dominated the game at his peak, he always wants the limelight and he got bags of it this week until he started losing and continued losing, then the player who treated his peers with contempt when he was dominant showed he still isn't a team player...
