Cheers ... also to the other responders... We've come a long way since our relegation to League 1 ten years ago and the most pleasing thing to an old timer like me (that amazing title winning season aside) is the quality in the current squad, and the fact that we have so many good young players ... Maguire, Chilwell, Gray and Maddison are all likely future England players ... and Iheanacho, Ndidi and Fousseini Diabate are, like the English lads, under 24 ... as are our 2 new centre backs Benkovic (on loans at Celtic) and Caglar Soyuncu who is yet to make his full first team debut ... We also have another kid out on loan at West Brom, Harvey Barnes, who is currently ripping up the Championship ... Very good time to be a Leicester fan ... All the best for the rest of the season
To be honest I'd take going down to League 2 to get rid of Ashley. I know many would disagree but we will never go anywhere until he goes elsewhere. Partly through a lack of investment and partly because the toxic atmosphere which has enveloped the club over the last 10 yrs. Have to say Rafa is having a shocker this season. He isn't to blame for our plight of course and it is difficult to judge him fairly with what he has at his disposal. However in terms of managing this group and getting them best out of them he is miles off at present. If you didn't know better you'd think he was actually throwing games. The fans were poor too. A good portion were more interested in abusive Ashley chants (which achieve **** all), than events on the field. The players were lethargic and we lacked any clear gameplan again. All of these things though, Rafa having a shocker, the fans not at their best, players under performing - it all comes back to Ashley and his management of the club.
Not really known it for years out of the forty one years I've attended Newcastle games as a season ticket holder I can probably say I've enjoyed a maximum of ten years.. So I've known a while that we are ****.
