56 mln ??? Are you sure? Add Park, Jenkinson and count again. It will be closer to 40 mln.

dude, the guy makes out Fergie continually brought through kids. PAH.

Since Beckham's lot Fergie hasn't had any successes with youth that he brought through ! Chris Eagles ? That kid who looked like Pug ? Leave off !

"However, his time in Italy was less successful. Although he won a second UEFA Cup in 1994, he found it hard to adapt to the Italian style of play, scoring just 11 times in 50 appearances. Bergkamp's poor form was not helped by his frosty relationship with the Italian press, and indeed some of his teammates. He was so unpopular at the club, that the Italian sports media, renamed their "donkey of the week" award (handed to the worst player that week) to the "Bergkamp of the Week" award."

Quote taken from Wikipedia about Bergkamp's career at Inter Milan.

What I meant was as well as Henry, Bergkamp's career had gone cold while in Italy. When both arrived at Arsenal, Wenger re-ignited their careers and they went on to become world class players and club legends.

Where did I say Ferguson continually brought kids through? All I have said is he has mixed youth with experience throughout his career that is why he is so successful.

The point is hothead that wengers hasn't kept experienced heads in. Selling senior players and not bringing in a big signing for years.
He hasn't blended youth with experience and thts what's gone wrong.

As for wilshere. What's he done then? English media is all over him like a dirty rash.
He's a good player and arsenals greatest hope but he's accomplished nothing.
Danny wellbeck had a fantastic season at Sunderland as did cleverley.
Arsenals young guns bottled against a team that got relegated.
United young guns won the community shield against a strong Manchester city team.
As sign of things to come

He's trying to say that its all down to getting the right balance, and this is something i totally agree on. Fergy has been vindicated by keeping his experienced players in his squad and mixed it up with youngsters. By Wengers definition, Giggs, Scholes and Neville would all be way over the hill ages ago. These same players were instrumental in them winning the premiership being past their best!

Whether you like it or not, Wenger has clearly lost the plot by being overly obsessed by his youth project.

Not once have I said fergoe continually brings through kids.
He bought through an extrodinary batch of players and built his teams round them, now there dying out he seems to have pulled another crop of young talent that is impressing more every game.
Read the post properly and you might understand.

What is clear is that SAF himself has much more respect for Wenger than some of the posters here.

SAF has always respected Wenger but not shown it. He is now being overly nice to him as Arsenal are no longer a threat. Let's see how he treats Mancini as Man City are looking formidable......

SAF has always respected opposite managers and gets annoyed when they are unfairly attacked and criticised in the media.

Might have something to do with the fact that SAF will spend £20m on someone like Phil Jones and Wenger wouldn't

Yes that is the point wengers pays for 5 flops and ferguson will buy one gem.
Arsene doesn't seem to have an eye for a good young player yet he builds his philosophy on young talent.
