On Tuesday the Saints are playing the blues
A match, I am sure, we will probably lose
But there's a chance we will snag us a win
(Don't check the odds: they are mighty thin).

McCarthy's the man who will play in goal
A tiny wee plaster to stem a huge hole
Left by the Dutchman some know as Wes
(But more call him useless, I must confess).

We will play our system, our own 442
Though I'm not sure our midfield know what to do.
When ex-Saint Walcott comes quick down the flank
I hope little Cedric kicks him hard in the shanks.

Everton may have good players and spent lots of dosh
But have they got JWP or anyone equally posh?
Have they got Lemmy of the lemming midfield?
Have they heck! Everton, lie down, roll over... it's time to yield!

So cheer up Southampton, cheer on Mark Hughes,
Not every chant started need be the blues,
We've still got bad teams below us: our secret weapon!
They can out crap us, what do you reckon?

P.S. This is the cup, a break from league struggles,
And if we lose, so what, I'm handing out huggles.
