Thanks for all the good wishes. We have had a splendid day out in the mountains and along the coast. It is two and a half years since I was last in Corsica, and what a change there has been in that time. Roads that had been neglected for far too long have been rebuilt and resurfaced. Work is on going to straighten some of the worst bends out, and everywhere there are new official signs pointing you towards local business who are selling items specific to the island. New shopping centres are appearing and it is amazing to see how many of the village houses that were in a bad state have the builders in and look attractive. There is a new degree of confidence everywhere with tourists who are a large part of the economy arriving in greater numbers than ever. I have not paid yet to park the car anywhere and have had a smile from everyone I have talked to. Much of the funding has come from Paris and Brussels with the regional improvement plans, but the island council have to be congratulated on the way they are managing it. Investment for the future is what comes across and maybe that is why the liberation army is not performing very well these days.
Afternoon all. Just had sea bass, new potatoes and cauliflower. With a few beers. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm Well just about got over the match. Very proud of the team. No fears when, as will certainly happen, we need to bring in the reserves. And great to see Gommie in action. Well done OFH. Sounds great. In the next few days I'll be keeping an eye on the Ryder Cup and the 'orns of course. Sadly Dave your guys are in parallel so a side show this time around. But I'm sure Pukki will get a goal as usual But wife's birthday tomorrow. Don't forget, Don't forget, Don't forget, Don't forget, Don't forget, Don't forget, Don't forget, Don't forget, Don't forget,
My niece turned 14 yesterday - she chose to have a few friends over after school yesterday. I haven't spoken to my sister yet, but I'm sure after that she would have found work easier today, as the children there are younger - she's a TA at Tanners Wood Primary School. I had a cold caller shortly after getting home from work this evening. I feel sorry for them when they're calling from India and you have to explain that Jersey isn't part of the UK, but when they are obviously English, like the man who called about PPI a couple of months ago, I get a bit pissed off.
Morning all. The sun is shining on the mountains which I will go over to get to a great Sandy beach. First I need to find a post box to send some cards I have written to the family. La Poste has removed many as it is not efficient to keep stopping to empty them. I suppose that the days of sending picture postcards by snail mail are numbered. Will miss the match again, but hope for a good performance. Another point would do nicely.
Into the play-off places. Well done you Canaries. But you need to let that Pukki guy go. No goals. We'll offer half a million
The sun is still shining down on OFH. Found a lovely little cove that was almost deserted, but it was down a track more suited to a four wheeled off the road car than my estate. A small beach bar, and warm sea to swim in. What more could I have wanted? Wifi would have been good to keep up with how the game was going.
