I absolutely agree. I am sure at this point Hurst entirely regrets taking the position.

Sheffield United were derailed by the Ched Evans saga, or it would have been faster, but still they were not stranded.

I don't think this is his style, it would be a PR disaster for the Marcus Evans Group and he wouldn't see his money back so I think this is very unlikely.

The only scenario in which he doesn't lose at least £50m is to make us successful without pouring more cash in.

And that accounts for six years? I’d argue it was a succession of poor managerial appointments that kept them down. Micky Adams, Danny Wilson, David Weir, Nigel Clough, and Nigel Adkins came and went before they got Chris Wilder. Clough aside that’s a terrible list of managers.

He has an arrest warrant for him in Brazil after ticket touting at the 2014 World Cup, UEFA blacklisted his company after EURO 2016, the rugby union’s governing body took his company to court, and he’s one of the more notorious tax evaders in English football. I don’t think he’s overly bothered by negative PR.

That particular market is not especially bothered by a lack of ethics but they are bothered by failure.

Lets see what Hurst comes up with today then.

Wonder if it'll be 6 changes per Norwich - new system ala Brentford, or low and behond, could he do something continuous?

If he didn't mess around with the team so much I'd find him a bit easier to get behind.

When asked about Sears the other day, he made himself look so limited. Didn't know what game he'd left Freddie out due to injury, wasn't even sure when he'd trained! Cannot make it up.

Get a grip Hurst and if you don't know the answers, stop waffling.

As for saying another stick to beat him with, he doesn't help himself............... car crash management to date.

Lets hope for a result at Brum today, but that's all I can do under Hurst and this ' squad ' he's assembled, hope.

Here’s the thing though Westlake. Car crash management is leaking goals and regularly getting beaten by a margin. It ain’t been pretty but it hasn’t been a car crash in one single game.

It's subjective. To you it may be that, to me it's not. Granted, defensively we're quite tight. We've stopped conceding set piece goals of late. First clean sheet v Bolton. However, that's where the positives end.

Car crash management to me is making bucket tonnes of bad decisions. 0 wins in first 10 attemps to me = car crash management.

    To date, it's been laughable.

Here's hoping it improves, starting today.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing Westlake. The only mistakes that Hurst has made for me are 1) Favouring Gerken over Bart (although Bart has some of the worst stats in the division given his poor start), 2) with the attacking formation and 3) loaning out Woolfenden and Morris.

That hardly constitutes a car crash.

Sure, in your opinion 3 -

In my opinion, bucket tonnes of other mistakes/ errors of judgement. - see earlier in the article.

So sure - in your opinion, hardly a car crash.

    In my opinion, car crash.

    Game of opinions

Not really Westlake, it's a game of statistics and results.

Humour me and list out the mistakes you think he's made.

If it’s a game of statistics and results, then zero wins in ten games is pretty damning.

Not really - we haven't been suffered a heavy defeat and we're unbeaten at home. Could be a lot worse.

Where’s the list for me to pick apart Westlake?

It’s somewhere near the start of this article, just reasons I’m not thrilled with Hurst to date.

Happy for him to get things right, starting with three points today please.

I would like nothing more than to be able to get behind Hurst- but right now, I’m struggling.

    0% win ratio to date.

Wonder the injured 2 for today?!?!

If we are looking at our season through a purely statistical, results-based perspective, which is what you stated above, then we have a 0% win rate and we are in the bottom three. Avoiding heavy defeats and drawing all our home games are all well and good, but do little to dress up that most damning of statistics, a bit fat zero in the win column. Hopefully that will change today and we can climb up this damn table.

Nuggets, not disputing any of that, but is unbeaten at home and no heavy defeats a car crash?

I personally wouldn’t describe it as a “car crash”, but I can see why some supporters would view our current position that negatively. Unfortunately, there are not many positives we can take out of the season so far, and some of the decisions Paul Hurst has made look ill-advised.

My personal opinion is that it’s too early in the season to write Hurst off and write off our chances of staying in this division. However, I will defend supporters who think otherwise as I completely understand where they are coming from. I’m more a supporter of Hurst at the moment through sheer hope that he will turn it around. Fast forward a few more matches without a win though, and I think we will have to entertain the notion that hiring Hurst was a mistake.

Mick McCarthy is gone so we could lose every match 10-0 and I’d still be happier this season than any of the last five.

That's a really weird thing to say.

You'd be happy bottom of the league with a goal difference of minus 460?
