I'm pretty sure the English and German FAs made a deal. They supported us to get the semi finals and final for the 2020 Euros and we would support them to get the 2024 Euros.
seems fair. they get an entire tournament and all the business that brings and we get a couple matches. kind of business acumen that's got the FA where it is today. (selling wembley for a 300bil loss of taxpayers money)
