Jesus H Christ - it's not getting knocked out that hurts (though I'd rather win than lose), but the ****ing naivety : we had twenty-odd minutes to noble Hazard for Saturday, and we didn't even try! Moreno - what else was he doing? I really wouldn't have minded going down to ten men, and so what if we end up losing? We did anyway, and now Hazard is flying for Saturday when he could be on the treatment table. I really never thought they'd play him tonight. Big, big chance missed.
Champions League is the biggest prize. Then League a little behind it. FA cup and League Cup are way down the list and only really worth pursuing if you have no chance of the above two. If you make it as far as the quarter finals of either you might as well go for it... Outside that I'd rather just focus on the league and champions league and use the nothing cups to experiment with squad.
Also worth noting that we lost to a goal that could have easily been ruled offside, and a wonder goal. And we missed some very good chances.
The problem with the League cup is the two legged semi in January, we just don't need those added games on top of Prem, FA cup and the resumption of the CL (should we get through )
I think Fabinho Hendo Keita actually looked good (with Hendo as B2B). Once Fabinho went off, Hendo really lost it. His composure, his passing. Everything just went.
You can clearly see the blue of Barkley's shirt in advance of any Liverpool player. His feet are obscured by Morata so it's impossible to tell where they are in relation to our players, which is why I asked the question. Unless the VAR people had angles that we weren't shown then they were in no position to make a call on that. The ref should at least have had a look at it himself. Anyway, I'm not too bothered about being out of the MM Cup, but I am pissed off that our winning streak is ended.
We were never getting anything from The Rent Boys' Friend. He's taken over where Webb left off. That said, I'll say again - if we had a Ramos in our ranks (or if Moreno had a modicum of self-sacrifice) Hazard would have gone off on a stretcher. Really pissed off.
I have to say that one thing I noted upon review. when.mane went off we left the left side of our team with firmino, Keita and Moreno... they scored two goals.off it. makes work.is seriously under rated by us. Keita got.done there several times as he tired .
Moreno's positioning and decision making throughout the game reminded us all why we hope Robertson never gets injured
