It’s tricky but from free kicks like that out wide where someone is standing bang in the middle of the goal then I don’t understand how you can’t class then as interfering. Keeper doesn’t know who it’s going to, defenders can’t hold any kind of line because they don’t know who is going to interfere or not. From open play I understand someone not being flagged off but from set pieces like that it’s a crap rule
What's the point of VAR if they can't even get a decent angle on the action? Barkley looked off to me as well as Morata.
Ah well rather be in it but we're not so **** it. Great goal from Hazard and it just didn't go our way. Impressed with Fabinho, Shaqiri showing he's a good option.
I assumed the lines on the ground were to signal the last defenders foot in which case Barkley looked ahead of it but who knows.
What impressed you about him? Other than lack of flappiness I didn't see much difference from Hendo. Caveat of newness to team and league obviously....
Focusing on the positives - - Clyne was excellent defensively - Matip and Lovren pretty much dealt with everything - Fabinho was solid and grew into the game (same with Keita) - even with a team that hasn’t played together or hardly even at all themselves, we still deserved to win
If we win at weekend then I’m sure none of us will be too fussed. Lose at weekend end and been a bit of a **** week that. 7 days to show what this team are about now against Chelsea after first lose, Napoli then city.
Won the ball back well (which Hendo does) but just general ability on the ball. Played out of trouble when pressed. Solid, not spectacular
This will provide the first real test of our title credentials. How many points do we get against top teams? What is our response to a relative setback? TBH it will do us a favour to be out of the Carabao Cup if we really want to win the title. Our priority must be the league and to stay top.
I'm not concerned in the slightest about being out. Our team selection shows that Klopp won't be either.
Personally I prefer the league cup to the FA cup. It's all over in February. Whereas the FA cup gets hyped up and drags on and you end up moving league games for it, then the stupid games at Wembley in the semi final
Fact is that we should have had the game tied up before Hazard scored. If you don’t take your chances and the opposition do, you’ll lose.
