SSN reporting that he and his wife have gone away for a long weekend. Macca to consider his future with Forest already. Looks like the Billy Davies situation has reared its ugly head again. If Macca does quit then what mug will go there i wonder ? apart from the un-employed managers that is ? An interesting situation brewing @ Forest and so far they are nowhere near good enough to go up. I thought Greening and Boetang were poor against West Ham. Just goes to show that whatever problems there are @ Hull City many other clubs have far worse.
Its his own fault for talking to players like there learning to read. I....would....like...you....to...pick....up....your...pen....and.....put.....your....name....on....this.....contract......please.....
Mclaren has brought in, Jonathan Greening, Ishmael Miller, Andy Reid, George Boateng and Matt Derbyshire. They got in the play offs last season didnt they? Plus those 5 he can fuk off. We would be thinking automatics with those 5.
His representatives are holding talks with the Forest board now apparently. If he walks it's a huge mistake in my opinion - McClaren's reputation will be wrecked once again after building it back up in Holland, and the Forest hierarchy will look like mugs for not investing when theoretically they promised £12.5m this season. They best get some money spent in January
Mclaren has realised he'll never fill the legendary Brian Cloughs boots. In fact who could? SAF is half the manager Clough was in his prime, Bill Shankley perhaps but few others come close to achieving what Cloughie did with Forest!
Very true and as someone who was lucky enough to meet him briefly I can confirm that 'Old big 'ead' was the most down to earth friendly bloke going.
You're a lucky fella! I'd have loved to have met him. I was deeply upset when he passed away, true legend! My old man was a Cloughie supporter, he took me to the City ground from 1978 through to Hillsborough disaster then we stopped, after Cloughie took to drink my old fella lost interest. I was lucky enough to watch his team get promoted and win two European cups with has beens and Second division and Irish players no one had ever heard of. Cloughies teams played football something I would love NP to try and replicate.
After he finished at Forest he often went to his son's newsagent shop in West Bridgford. He had a high stool set up outside the counter and he would sit there all day just chatting to anyone in the queue who wanted to talk to him. Top bloke.
You wouldn't let it lie would you? You just wouldn't let it lie. But seriously I was absolutely starstruck and I think the conversation went a bit like: - Hello Mr Clough it's good to meet you. - Hello young man. Are you a Forest supporter? - No Hull City. - Oh, Hull City are they doing well? And the rest has disappeared into the ether, but it still means something to me.
I think im gonna start a new thread on famous people we have met. Should be interesting. I attended an evening with Cloughie at Jacksons Club years ago. He was great value and definitely a star. I worked with a woman whose Dad was the groundsman at Derby and she met him a few times, said he was absolutely terrifying. The whole room stopped when he walked in.
Yes and he was a very good member of one of our best midfields with Garreth Roberts, Billy Askew and Brian Marwood.
