I agree entirely that what he does in his spare time is up to him, and that he can go out and do whatever he likes. My point is that he is not doing himself any favours by going out clubbing until 3am when he is paid to stay in shape. If he wants to play first team professional football he needs to prepare himself as best he can. All I am saying is that he needs a word with himself. I don't really care how he spends his spare time, its up to him. The footballers with the longest careers tend to be those that look after themselves off the pitch, although as the mighty Frank Worthington proved, there are some exceptions!
http://www.exetercityfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10436~2439661,00.html Exeter have written their best wishes. I hope there is something on the Saints site soon as well...
you cant expect them to never go out and get pissed. whats the point in earning all that money if you cant go out and enjoy it? yeah they have to stay fit, but the odd night here or there isnt going to make a difference at all. id be much more stressed if he smoked, like tommy forecast does.
He has 2 weeks off! He was letting his hair down! I know for a fact that he is a very generous person on a night out and he doesn't go looking for trouble, instead he spend the night with the group he went out with buying them all drinks! Just because he needs to stay in shape doesn't mean he can't let his hair down once in a while.
I think it is pretty disgusting that there is a best wishes on Exeter’s official site and not even a mention of his situation on ours!!!! SORT IT OUT SAINTS HE’S ONE OF OURS!!!!
Relax man, it's not a race. The club has more important things to do, like making sure he is actually going to be ok.
As far as I understand, Saints will make a statement this afternoon after players have been informed and club have higher knowledge of the situation.
The club should have at least issue an statement, not all saints fans read Not 606 but a lot only get their info from the Offical Saints page and they will still be in the dark.
UPDATE: Doctors have confirmed Dan Seabourne is "stable" and in the Wessex Neurological centre. Adkins and a Southampton FC doctor are with him.
I imagine that now this Situation has changed, and the club are present and informed we will now have someone writing up a statement.
