Wilson’s fizzing long-range effort deceived a motionless Romero to cancel out Juan Mata’s 3rd-minute opener and the young Welshman wheeled away in celebration before the ball even hit the back of the net. As many Liverpool players have done down the years, Wilson held one hand aloft to show five fingers, referring to Liverpool’s five European cups – compared to United’s three.
