I think it's great we finally don't have Ronaldo v messi but clearly Ronaldo is a duck for not turning up. Modric was brilliant and deserved the award
First time Ronaldo or Messi haven't won it in ages. Modric was Ronaldos team mate and he just doesn't turn up because he didn't win and it doesn't matter anymore. What a d!ck

We played awful against the mousers and deserved to lose the game but we had a legit pen waved away in injury time that would have won us a point. That point, and more importantly reducing the mousers by 2 may be the difference at the end of the season. If that decision had gone the other way, death threats would be coming out of Merseyside by now. Indeed. They've spent nearly a whole season whingeing about us getting a legitimate penalty at their place, so can you imagine...." #51841" Someone should teach them what irony means and that even if they'd got the pen there's no guarantee they'd have scored it. Also they don't seem to accept that their defenders have got away with dodgy tackles etc themselves.
The team of the year selections don't need to turn up on the night, those nominated in the final three nominations for the main award are expected to turn up, it's etiquette. But Ronaldo only likes to show his cheesy smile when he's the main recipient. No doubt he won't be the Fifa poster boy anymore because of his total disrespect of their much coveted award, unless of course FIFA told him in advance that he hadn't won it, in which case they're as bad as Ronaldo themselves.
