Good morning all. There's been rain here overnight and the colour of the clouds at the moment would indicate that there'll be more.

Fourteen years ago, the man who took me to my first WFC match over 40 years ago died of skin cancer at the age of 57. He was well-liked by many people, to the point where all the seats for his funeral service at West Herts Crematorium were all taken and those standing at the back were 2 - 3 rows deep. However, to my sister and I, he was simply Dad and to my sons, Grandad. Unfortunately, my niece and nephew never knew him - my sister was due to give birth to my niece the day he died.
My Mum has since found out that, even if it had been caught earlier, it wouldn't have made any difference. When I read of someone surviving skin cancer, it doesn't upset me - the results of increased awareness and better research since then means that those people don't have to go through what he did and makes me feel as if his death wasn't a total waste.

You can sleep on another 3 points Dave. A good win away and only 2 points off the playoffs. Hasta manana

Dave can Watford buy this Pukki chap. He can't stop scoring :emoticon-0140-rofl: But next up Wigan who are going well. Should be a great game. Let's hope Pukki stays "on fire" and home advantage is enough. Then hope of 'orns vs canaries fixtures next season .

Morn'in all. Here :emoticon-0157-sun:. Talk about boring. Salmon and new potatoes, with a "foam-a-load" <ale> today. Looking forward to that. Might then watch Arsenal and see how many red cards they get  And see how Richalison is getting on.

    Enjoy one and all.

Slowly starting to feel like a normal human being after being ill for 7 days.

Cooking up a hot madras today to flush the last of the lurgy out.

Did anyone see the boxing yesterday? It was some win from AJ. :)

Just a thought: So far this year the so called top 6 have dropped 12 points to non-top 6 teams in 27 such matches.

That seems a lot. Perhaps it isn't??? The benefactors have been: Watford 3, Brighton 3, Wolves (1+1), West Ham 1

Only Liverpool and Arsenal haven't dropped points to us lesser beings. And - possibly - the latter will not be able to say that in 2 hours time. And certainly not in 7 days time. ;)

Could this push up the number of points needed for safety?

As you can tell Sunday is passing slowly for me. However, I have made some excellent mango chutney :emoticon-0157-sun:

Evening all from an olive Grove in South West Corsica. Temperature is around 29 degrees and I have been presented with a bottle of chilled local rose wine by the owner of the gite. Sat in the garden sampling it and it is very good. He tells me he buys it in bulk, then bottles it into man size litre bottles.
Found out the score about 11.00 pm in the ferry port at Toulon. For some reason I couldn't login to the wifi in English or French, but finally made it with the Italian version. Today I had a message on my phone saying welcome to Italy.
Quite an eventful journey rescuing young waitress from yob, but will save that for another day.
I have been told that wifi here is unreliable, and to be certain of getting on line means a 4.00 am start. Morning Dave.

Well Arsenal didn't look too good. But we will need to take our chances. Bring it on.

Now back to my Mango chutney

Think I have moved into a different dialect zone. My teenage misuse of the language seems to be working well, whilst Mme who is far more grammatically correct is finding it hard work. :emoticon-0103-cool:

Bit of a coincidence I'm just helping a guy from Bosnia, who lives in Sweden, with his English. We were just discussing the value of going to the University of life, being streetwise, and that it is ok to be a toff, but can he boil an egg?

OFH you are obviously a man of the people ;)

Evening all. Splendid day for OFH in holiday attire of shorts and t-shirt. Even with the shorts on I was quite overdressed compared with some younger ladies on the beach. Big difference between home and holiday is that I do not have the problem of blackthorn or brambles, so covering up is sensible at home.
Lovely area provided for ramblers and cyclists found along the coast overlooking the Med. It has taken a number of years to complete, but with the aid of EU funding there are designated pathways, cycle tracks and resting places with a coffee shop and bar. A centre has been built with lots of useful information on what to look out for in the way of flora and wildlife. Even towards the end of September the car park was almost full, and you could pay something towards the project if you wished to support it, but it was up to you. Most chipped in with a few Euros.
The project was started originally by the UN, part of a scheme to preserve areas of outstanding natural beauty around the world. I would much rather discover areas like this than sat by a hotel pool.

Evening all. Well hot and sticky here. But the weather will break with a thunderstorm soon.

    Sounds good OFH.

Dave good luck tonight. Could be a banana skin.

Precision is a power I do not possess. But better to be a day early than a day late

Dave I'll wait but sadly I think there are no streams for this cup. But hope Pukki keeps up his run :emoticon-0137-clapp:emoticon-0137-clapp:emoticon-0137-clapp C'mon Canaries. You'll meet the 'orns in the next round ;)

OK bed and more of my Edinburgh detective in 1880. Love a good historic detective.

And that's good night from me, and good night from him :emoticon-0116-evilg
