    one solution

    Weimann and Fammy
    Taylor

Build the team around that Taylor playing in his preferd position

or Weimann and Taylor up front.

Certainly did not work with Fammy and Wiemann at Wigan.

The whole team didn’t play well against Wigan , you can’t really judge them on them on that one game .

Fam and Weiman both have goals in them, both of their goals per minutes record for us are very good, Taylor on the other hand doesn’t , I know you will argue he allows others to score by creating space etc , but I’m afraid as a striker you are judged on goals and as much as I like Matt, at this level so far he hasn’t cut the mustard yet . So for now I’m afraid we have to try to find a way of successfully playing Fam and Weiman.

Or get a proven goal scorer like Tammy in on loan. I have seen many comments on our weakness up front and sometimes our match statistics reflect that fact when we boss the possession but lose the points.

This will come once they understand each other's game better. Against Wigan, with better awareness from both they could have had at least one goal each. I'd be more worried if they were not even close to creating chances between them.

That's a bit difficult seeing the window is shut!

Fam and Weiman for me - need time on the pitch together

...Besides which, Tammy was far from 'proven' when we got him on loan and it's been made clear that he was too expensive to get back this season, even before you consider whether or not he'd pick us ahead of Villa, even with his history with us.

Not sure who else Mike might be thinking of, as 'proven' goalscorers are hardly in abundance, particularly on loan. Would genuinely be interested in hearing who might have been realistically targeted though.

For me, I do think we have good attacking options, though maybe all suffer a bit for consistency. For all the criticism of him, Diedhiou's goals to minutes ratio since he joined us has been excellent, and though it's true that he needs to become more well-rounded, I think he's worth persevering with.

Matty Taylor has shown some glimpses, and though I don't think he's the Second Coming like RR, it would be nice for him to be rewarded for his good performances with more game-time. That said, how do you fit him into the team? Assuming Weimann's an automatic starter for his unrivalled work-rate, it's a straight fight with Diedhiou to start, and though I think they should rotate a bit on the basis of form and the opposition, Taylor will lose that battle more often than not. If you go on RR's idea of playing all three with Taylor behind the other two, then you're forcing a change in shape, as presumably you still want Pack and Brownhill in the centre, so you'd be opting to play with wing-backs and so means no place for the likes of O'Dowda, Eliasson, Watkins and (when fit) Adelakun.

Squad management is tricky, and it was good recently to hear LJ say that it gave him sleepless nights, but I do think it's an area he can improve on as it sometimes seems as though he sometimes over-plays certain players who become fatigued later in the season and drops those who have just played well (like Taylor was in favour of Diedhiou), otherwise changes seems to be ones enforced by injuries (usually long-term ones in our case. Oh joy.).

Even over here I know the window is shut and it was intended as a dream scenario. Duh!

For me we are chopping and changeing when there was no need.
We were on a four game winning streak and the wise one changes it for the Sheffield Utd game.He brings the three players in that should have started and we won the game.
It is like a Yo Yo, in and out and shake the hokey pokey and hope it comes up trumps. Let’s give a first team the chance to loose their jerseys not rip it from them when then have done nothing wrong.
Wigan showed what a complete cock up it was.
Not to mention the ball being lumped up front when Fammy is playing,Weimann and Taylor the football was top drawer. We looked dangerous,we looked like we could play through a team.
