So, both Vital Football and Read Norwich are running with the rumour that Jamal Lewis is about to sign a 4 year contract. IF SW can pull this off, it will certainly be 'a feather in his cap' and great news.
OBVIOUSLY, it won't stop the speculation re his future, but should at least ensure that we receive a decent transfer fee when he's sold.

A bit concerned by the use of 'when' rather than 'if'. :emoticon-0106-cryin
No, I accept it's inevitable. Our owners are far from minted,
so it's the only way the club can stay self sufficient.
Keep churning them out, Matt Gill <ok>

Indeed Cromer and it's all the work that the rest of the coaching staff put into developing our youff that's important as well.
I'm hopeful that several of the players in the current Under 23 team will be able to make the 'step up' in the same way that TC/Max and Jamal have. #thefuturesbright

Edit - another good read on MFW re our exploits on Saturday - http://norwichcity.myfootballwriter...t-as-academy-investment-starts-to-bear-fruit/

PS - Guess who has made it into Garth Crooks team of the week and no, I DON’T think we sold him too cheaply, as Puel was taking a gamble, which has paid off handsomely!! :emoticon-0102-bigsm

'Maddison has either scored or assisted in four of his past five Premier League starts for Leicester City (three goals, one assist)' <yikes>

That goal was dismissed by many, but Teemu had to react to the deflection and use his chest in an instant. Sorry Schteve, but that was a proper goal!

That guy is a proper pillock!
Every time one of our fans moan about our manager, I think how much worse it could be!

I'm not sure about that. The money from Pritchard, Maddison and Murphy has balanced the books and we have a manageable wage structure now. If anyone does leave, it will be for silly money.

Brief details from today's presser - Several changes for the trip to Wycombe.
Marshall still out, Pinto may be in starting 11 and Basil won't be in the squad.
McLean still having problems and Hernandez MAY be back for Stoke.

Confirms NCFC in discussion with Lewis re new contract until 2021!!! <ok>

And because they are replaceable with no, or little, loss teamwise.

I think it was Vrancic who said last week that the team has a better balance since selling JM and IMO the ball gets passed forward faster. than it used to with JM in the team!!! <ok>

Vrancic himself improved greatly over last season, especially in his defending, and he's looked good coming on as a sub since recovering from injury, including scoring the winner against Reading. We now have good options (and competition) at every position and that has helped to maintain the balance (no round pegs in square holes and all that). We've lost key players in Hanley, Pinto, Hernandez, McLean and Marshall and yet we've still won three games in a row. That makes me think that we now have a squad fit for the rough and tumble of the long Championship season.

It reminds me a bit of when Man City had Georgi Kinkladze in the mid 90s when he was head and shoulders above the rest of his team mates, but it didn't work out for them.

His main problem was he could only use his right leg to stand on which made it very easy to shepherd him away from goal.

Harry Wilson's free kick for Derby last night!!! <yikes>
We'd better not give him that chance next Wednesday!!!
Edit - Lampard seems to be doing a decent job of being a manager.

Well, all I can say is that I'm CERTAIN that our 'goals for' column will be considerably higher in the championship this season than it was last!!!!
A quote from PD's column - 'Here is a good debate, Norwich City fans. When was the last time you had two genuine goalscoring threats capable of plundering in big quantities? Possibly as far back as the League One days when Grant Holt and Chris Martin terrorised opponents, with Wes Hoolahan a creative support.'
    http://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwic...ries-4-3-carabao-cup-win-at-wycombe-1-5710951

So, we now have 2 strikers who appear to know where the back of the net is and several fans saying how much they enjoyed the game against Boro. My belief is still that we'll do well to achieve a top 10 finish (no puns!!), but I think that this year's Championship is going to be very hotly contested and I'm chuffed that DF has such a strong squad at his disposal. #glassstillonlyhalffull

PS - Come and join the debate FML #wemissyou

    Who's Lampard? ;)

The test will be whether we can turn this current good form into consistency over the whole season. Certainly the goal-scoring problem seems to have been resolved and our squad size will help us cope with injuries. If the defence can be consistent as well, we could have a chance for the play-offs.
