I think we all would. But there is no chance in him coming. The mess at Ipswich now is showing the great job he did. He will be in a decent job by Christmas. I don't rate the job Adkins is doing as the players don't seem to have improved under him. But what's the point in sacking him? We won't pay a decent manager any money.
You’re comparing apples and footballs. Other clubs with an awesome squad, more than capable manager are doing ****e. The managers not playing this on a console or a PC, it’s real life. The general malaise around our club is sucking the life and soul out of our club. A malaise born out of the owners we currently have. If I can see that, not sure why you can’t.
Good bassist and very good songwriter (with a few notable exceptions) He would indeed be a good choice as new owner
It really isn’t. Yes our owners are ****s - that is a fact. Are all of our players performing to the best of their ability? I don’t think they are. What I like about what the new Leeds Manager is he got all the players supremely fit. He also took them to places and introduced them to people that have generally low paid jobs to remind them of the privileges enjoyed by footballers. Irrespective of what goes on in the boardroom. I’d ****ing love it if Adkins did that with our mob. Show them if they don’t start earning their money then this is what they could be doing.
Sorry, but if a team with, among others, two internationals that played at a World Cup, a former Premier League team of the year goalkeeper, a once capped England international, a former PSV centre half, a man who captained a team to the Premier League, a former Porto player, a former Arsenal player, a Norwegian international and a highly rated, goalscoring winger can't beat a team who haven't won at home all season, that isn't the fault of the Allams. We can point to who we could have got or where we could have strengthened, but the fact is, these players aren't crap. We know that, we've seen most of them play for a while now. Yes, off the field isn't great, we know that. The players know it, the fans know it, the Allams know it. All Adkins can control is matters on the pitch. And if the players on the pitch aren't doing the job (exhibit A, the Championship table), then he isn't doing his job either.
It depends on who the next man is. I don't think they interviewed a list of candidates, they simply decided on Adkins and got him in. Slutsky was sacked because on the trend we were on, we were going to go down. But we still weren't playing anywhere near as bad as we are at the moment. Adkins has had a full pre season, so there shouldn't be any excuses. He still doesn't seem to know what his best team is, he signed Milinkovic and then decided that he doesn't even warrant a place on the bench. The only reason I can think he took Bowen off on Saturday was because he was writing the game off and saving him for the big games coming up, which is ****ing mental. Thrashings in the next three games, with the same level of apathy as Saturday and he can do one. I don't mind being beaten by a better team, but being beaten because we can't be arsed is unacceptable.
It did last time. At the moment, the players don't look bothered. It's the manager's job to change that. Adkins isn't doing it at the moment and there's a strong chance we could head into the international break bottom of the league and broken. By sticking with the manager, you're essentially writing off the season and saying we are going down no matter what, which is silly with the current crop of players. Somebody told me the other day that of the four senior coaches at City, three are former goalkeepers (Adkins, Pennock, Richardson) and one was a centre half (Crosby). So, why are we so crap at defending? Because that goes some way towards explaining why we are so poor in attack, but you'd expect a bit more defensive coaching on their part.
I echo this, individually most of these players are equal to many in the championship, but Atkin's is playing them but not getting a tune out of them. The question is though who would come, and who every it was are they any better than Atkin's?
Think even those with the blindest of faiths realise that the squad we have at our disposal is poor tbh. The blame for this lies squarely at the feet of the clown holding stewardship of the club. Adkins took the job as a route back into football .. but has been severely hampered by the exodus and subsequent short sightedness of the owner. I do believe his blind faith in selections is somewhat wearing .. his choice of captain is ludicrous and his ability to change the way a game is going because of his stubbornness to change tactics is a fault of his .. but the sad thing about it is that with what he has at his disposal severely limits what he can do. There are options .. not many granted .. but still options are there .. i dont see it changing our performances too much in all honesty but i would like to see him change to a 3-5-2 .. and bolster the weak midfield. As for replacing Adkins .. with who ? Who would come here ? This club is the talk of the football leagues .. the way that Ehab is just creaming off any money to line his pockets .. the unwillingness to give any manager a fighting chance to compete.. the lies the deceit that he constantly spins .. no one of any credence would ever come here with these clowns at the helm. I've supported this club for over 50 years but given the owners we have had none have been so spiteful as this shower.. i can only see 2 outcomes .. the club going into administration with relegations dropping us down to the bottom level with these clowns smiling about how they have 'shown' they cant be dictated to by anyone .. or secondly being sold off as soon as the golden cow stops providing milk with little to no assets and giving any potential new owner a hell of a job to rebuild.
It's the old, it's the manager, it's the players but I'm afraid you can all go on and on all you like but until it's sorted at the top and everyone is pulling in the same direction then I'm afraid not much is going to change.
You are of course absolutely right, the club is rotten from the top down, however that should not hide that fact that Adkins is not getting a coherent and committed team performance from the players at his disposal, in fact team performances are going backwards, and Adkins is to blame for the majority of that.
