Call me traditional , old fashioned , whatever , but I would rather leave the boozer at 2.30pm and bowl down to the ground feeling nicely buzzed , chaining a pack of rothmans as I go , grab and down a quick warm plastic bottle of carlsberg in the concourse and stagger to my seat just as the teams were being announced in time to soak up the pre match amosphere and hear the first whistle blast... But that’s just me...
That's okay though, everyone has their own tastes.... But that's different to just rubbishing anything that may not necessarily be traditional... I mean, if someone doesn't like flame cannon and light shows, they can always stay in the concourse until they're over... No need to rubbish something other people may like just because you don't like it.
Only thing I don’t like about it is it’s abit unnecessary for a just standard league game. If it’s the FA cup final or whatever then fair enough I expect glowing lights and midgets being shot out of cannons through rings of fire etc...
I take a slight diversion ,for some reason your not allowed to blaze on your way to the ground, silly rule!
I tend to get to the ground for about 2:30, partly so I can get to my seat easier, and partly in the hopes that they'll play some good music over the tannoy. The tannoy dude at Portsmouth is good so there are quite often good songs. The last time I went there was Life of Riley, Mr Blue Sky and Walk of Life... Unfortunately, announcements were made over two of those. Bleh.
