Mogan is lovely. Nice and quiet if that's your thing, especially so behind the marina where the apartment complex is.

Stayed there last year. A guy down the pub has a first floor apartment there. They've got kitchens and living space on the roof. Spent the whole week chilling on the open roof. And walking 50 yards or less to the restaurants.

Not cheap though. Unless you're paying mates rates :emoticon-0141-whew:

It's lovely looking . Thought it would be pricey , if we go back it won't be for at least a couple of years , so plenty of time to save ;)

If you give up Alcohol , is it normal to feel knackered after about 2weeks without it ?

Is that Mogan on Gran Canaria ? I was there last October. Lovely little place once you've dodged the reps trying to sell you boat trips and excursions. Beautiful harbour and some lovely little restaurants tucked into those back streets. Did a nice little trip there on the bus and then got a Ferry back to Maspalomas.

I walked down from the bus station across that little bridge by the children's swing park and their were loads of them (British) trying to sell me ****. I don't mind, I know people try to make a living that way, but I had to give them the brush off. Lovely place Mogan though, especially around the harbour. Did you go on that Yellow Submarine ?

No, didn’t go on the yellow submarine , next time though :)

Did not think it actually submerged until the last day when we saw it with the hatches closed .

Stayed in Marina bay view apartments , nice , but love Mogan .

I like the idea of staying in Mogan , Mrs J thinks staying where we did and going to visit Mason may be better for us as we like to stay in quiet places . She has a point as Mogan was busy .

Unless we stayed a little bit out .

    Yes that's the place mate.

A friend has an upstairs apartment behind the marina. We had a look at the apartments for sale thinking it might be worth buying a place. A similar pad to the place we were in was €478,000, so **** that! <laugh>

Restaurants were generally hit or miss but we found a couple that were really good.

We never really left the rooftop all day. It had living space and a kitchen all kitted out so we just chilled the hell out up there.

I was just there for the day when I went to Gran Canaria last October, lovely little harbour town and I reckon it would be a nice place for a few beers and an evening meal with some good seafood. It's a bit 'touristy' and like you I'd probably use a base there and then go an explore the place at my leisure.

I thought the buses in GC were really good. Cheap, clean and efficient. I took myself off up into the interior and found some great little high elevation villages on those bus routes. Old Gran Canaria, and a bit more Spanish than the coastal towns. There was a great little cafe in a place called San Bartolome which doubled up as a barbers !

There's a small river runs through the middle alongside the road into Mogan. The marina side is lovely, just bloody expensive. We were so lazy we only ventured over the road to the shops for groceries so I can't comment on the rest of the place. There's a bloody big hotel on the other side, a Sheraton I think. Too big for us, we prefer smaller boutique hotels.

We were being told to invest in Puerto Rico which was being developed. Not an option for me now though.

That whole area which is currently Puerto Ricomis being developed along the coast , if the authorities aren’t carefull ( and I think they will be ) the building will slowly creep west so it is connected between PR and Mogan .

Going well thanks mate, today is day 50 which has reminded me to update my tally. Halfway to my first main target.

Been a lot easier than I thought though, found it different to last time when I was young because I was drinking most days then whereas now the urge only comes once a week or two so just have to address it that day. Yesterday was difficult as starting a week off and with the boxing it felt like I 'should' be drinking.

I've stopped waking up at 6am now though which is good and feeling loads better and happier even but the boredom has kicked in big time over the past few weeks.
