I think chances of AJ using his height and reach advantage and making this a boring jab fest, and AJ going mental after the first few rounds and knocking Povetkin out, are about equal. I'd say 45% KO, 45% decision for AJ, 5% chance he gasses and Povetkin wins on points, and 5% Povetkin catches him with a big hook early on and goes on to stop AJ. What are your thoughts?
Can see this being a jabbing win on points with AJ having won 10 of the rounds. Can’t see he’d go mental as too much to lose for one lucky punch.
Yes, he is a very good boxer and has been since his amateur days. He won the Olympics (probably on drugs), and has a good cv and has worked his way into contention (probably using drugs). He has largely been the smaller man in fights, at 6ft 2. As a result, as you'd expect he is good on the inside and tends to have a slight speed advantage. He is regarded as a power puncher (brutally knocked out Price... but it is Price... last time out), and is deadly accurate with the overhand hook. If Povetkin was 5 years younger, it would have been a very tough fight for Joshua.
He is still one of the top heavyweights out there and he has a chance, but age, location, height, weight and power all in AJ's camp should make him a big favourite. If Povetkin stops AJ, he hasn't come from nowhere and it won't be the biggest shock in boxing history.
This dreddy announcer is awful. "And new..... champion... of... *errrrm... wtf is he champion of? Can't read.. words.. in front of me.... they look quite heavy...* cruiserweight is... *oh hell what his name... says Sauce on his belt... Must be a nickname* Saucy boy" Painful.
Aj. Knockout. That David price nearly knocked out the Russian the last time. Can not see it going 12 rounds
To be fair Povetkin was just walking through David Price expecting to knock him out, not typical Povetkin, and Price is one of the biggest single punchers in the division apparently, he just doesn't have a chin, skills or stamina. We'll see a slightly more cautious Povetkin here I think
Britain has some good fighters mind. I always liked that Dillon whyte. Very dangerous fighter. And improving
Yeah, think Wilder was wise to duck him to be honest. Luke Campbell has boxed beautifully tonight so far.
