PL is a good shout and good luck to them, but I would like the CL trophy to stay in its rightful home as it looks kind of tacky when out on "loan". Besides one of our favourite sons plays there.
The team go to Liverpool and Gabby is not even on the bench!!!! Time to put us fans out of our misery and say goodbye to Mark Hughes pronto. Who to get in? Don´t laugh, but what about Paul Cook?
The only black mark I have against Hughes this season was his starting XI on the opening day. Which he rectified in the second half. (And as the weeks have gone on, I think he now feels the same as me in relation to Austin being too immobile to start.) Other than that, I'm not seeing any reason to be negative towards Mark.
Not this season!! The three places Will be taken by three of the following - Newcastle, Cardiff, Southampton, Huddersfield. Teams that might hover close by are Brighton, Bournemouth and Crystal Palace. Fulham and West Ham will be nowhere near the danger zone in terms of points. The way SFC and Newcastle are playing, they should be relegated now!
I don't think this is Hughes' fault...we need an exorcist, not a coach. At the same time, I don't think Hughes is a particularly good manager. We had little choice but to stick with him given that he kept us up, but I'll be a little bit surprised if he's with the team beyond this season. Unless we're seriously in the mire, though, we shouldn't be making that move in-year...that's the trap bad teams fall into, where every manager is working with the team of the previous guy without a proper chance to build the squad.
No! We need a quality manager/coach, but Hughes is not that manager. Continue with Hughes for much longer and the outcome is almost inevitable. I´d rather Tony Pulis, although at this stage I´d prefer Paul Cook (Wigan and not Sex Pistols) Leftfield would be someone like Laudrup or Klinnsman!!
Thank you Tom! PS: How did he get "injured" or is that a euphamism that Hughes is never going to pick him.
I'm wondering what Hughes has brought this season so far. We signed new players and have new options within the squad yet I'm not seeing any evidence of new ideas or new tactics.
Spot on!! Who would you like? I have said the ex-Pompey manager, Paul Cook who have proved he can manage at several levels. I believe he could get players just as good as those that SFC have spent 20 million "sp***ing up a wall"
It's only 3 games ago we won 2-0 away at Palace, since then we let a 2 goal lead slip against Brighton and got beat at Anfield, I see no need to panic yet when the season is only half a dozen games old ( I said I would start to judge properly after double that). Our main problems are defending a lead and set pieces as far as I can tell, maybe a new face or two in the back line could help to solve this.
Good point Archers - that`s why we have an idiot of a PM and an incompetent government taking us into Brexit we (well most of us!) don`t want! Sorry, wrong thread..........
