Not many teams will get much at Anfield, but if we don't improve the defence PDQ, we will struggle for sure.
We almost certainly will be involved in a relegation battle as it seems to involve 10 teams these days. I think we'll ultimately be okay and finish about 15th/16th.
The relegation battle is for all teams below 9th at any time of the season so we will be in it again and again until we start buying quality players fit for the PL.
Im mostly worried because this is a relatively easy start and we just aren't holding on to the points.
We will struggle again and that is exactly what we should expect. Id take 17th. That isnt an over recation because of todays game because lets face it, liverpool will probably beat 16/17 out of 19 team at home this season!
Exactly guys, there is no shame in losing to Liverpool, we just seem to lack character as a team. On paper we are probably similar to Wolves, although they have more attacking talent than us. It’s a really, really big game in my eyes. We at least need to show we can compete against them.
On paper most teams in the bottom half are much of a muchness. Majority it would be very even in numbers if you had to pick a combined team of any 2 teams. With the money in the PL now and most teams happily spending away there isn't a particularly big gap between 7th and 20th anymore
Well yeah, Monday’s result was far more of a worry than today’s. I think we’ll be alright though. We won’t be lighting up the park too often, but we’ll pick up enough points to avoid being candidates for the drop. Probably. Just about. I hope.
I vote @Le Tissier's Laces as he was meant to do the start of my run, but was too busy. He can't still be busy as I've done 3 threads
I accepted that long ago. But we should still win games against others like us. There’s bad and there’s relegation bad. The last two matches have me starting to fear we are relegation bad. Starting to think that the defense simply cannot be fixed. At least not by Hughes. If Ings can’t stay healthy, I don’t think we have much of a chance. And I don’t like the odds of Ings staying healthy. On the bright side, we do have options in the back line. And defenders can be found at semi-reasonable prices during the transfer window via loan. The players overall are not as hopeless as the people in charge. I don’t know if that makes it worse or better.
