I hesitate to say it, but there were some bright spots in that half. Højbjerg, Redmond, and Targett all looked to go forward and not fart about in midfield. Defence-wise, I despair.
I think your correct about Wes, I’m not sure he is s player at this level, but hope he proves me wrong. I saw him against Burnley and Leicester and poo’d my pants every time the ball went near him.
All I wanted was a simple, old fashioned smash and grab. Apparently too much to ask. Beginning to wish I hadn't bet all my children's savings on a saints win now.
The only reason I can think for Hughes continuing with Hoedt and Vestergaard as the main two centre backs is because he is “giving them a number of games” to see if they can form a partnership. I would have had Maya in as soon as he arrived back. I wasn’t a fan of Hoedt last season either, so if he throws a Dutch strop at being dropped, then let him. Just drop him.
