We're far better pressing than sitting back though. and its unlikely we would have done worse than conceding twice in 20 minutes.
We all knew it would be a difficult afternoon, but I think our attacking play hasn’t been too bad. We have to stop zonal marking at corners. Vestergaard having to crab sideways and backwards is never going to get enough leverage into his take off compared to someone running forward. Free header, basically.
Another point is with Ings, Elyounoussi and Gabbiadini unavailable what else could Hughes do. That's 3 attacking players out. Austin can't start here. I think Hughes had no option but to set up like this.

Agreed. My only gripe is that he could have dropped Hoedt. Not sure how bad he will have to play in order to be dropped. One of the worst defenders I have seen play for us in any league, let alone the PL. A season and a half of mounting evidence that he shouldn’t even be on the bench, let alone first choice.

As always, Yoshida instead of Hoedt, but the rest are perfect for pressing as is. Tactics not selection is the issue i have.
The disappointing thing for me is the fact both goals have come from set pieces, from the bits I've heard on the radio it doesn't sound like we've been that bad.
