Bit concerned for this game. Sort of game where we are coming off a high and expect to win, but for them to be resilient and get something.
The real gobshytes are the likes of fat ugly Boris Johnson, the weedy Rees-Mogg, gobby Farage, and all the rest of the Brexit supporting MPs. The EU has poured a lot of money into redeveloping Merseyside, something UK Governments. particularly Tory ones, did not do for decades.
This is the wrong thread for this, but we're not known for our focus anyway so what the hell. If Boris gets to be PM, he'll be the worst one since the Witch. I remember one of the Brexit slogans being "Take back control" - all well and good, but for whom? We're only giving it to a group, who may be "British", but are still only motivated by their own power-seeking agenda. I'd have more faith in the European Parliament to treat us fairly than I would for Boris and co. to do anything other than feather their own nests. Does anyone think concern for the ordinary people of the country has ever even crossed his mind?
Back to the game today. If Liverpool play at the peak, the scoreline will be horrible for Southampton. However, given the CL in midweek, the apparently "out of sorts" Salah, perhaps Sturridge will continue. I expect a calm and controlled 2-0 victory for Liverpool against a Southampton side set up for damage limitation. Stats: SFC 2 shots at goal, none on target.
I'm sure Klopp will try to motivate them against it, but I do think a bit of complacency will creep in. No disrespect to Saints, but it's a bit of an anti-climax after midweek. In reality of course, the three points are as important as any. If we get an early goal I think we'll coast it, but if we start too slowly and are a bit toothless I can see it getting nervy.
are all the Saints fans this negative atm as i thought Hughes had at least been setting you up to have a go at your opponents unlike last season.
The sign of a brilliant coach was the fact Liverpool did not panic when pegged back to 2-2 against a team as good as PSG. If you can keep control of your emotions against the classy French side, then SFC should hold no fear for the team in red.
From what I can gather, SFC tried to shut up shop in the second half against the goalscoring might of Brighton on Monday, and still failed. At home there is the fear of what to do when getting a lead. It is a case of stick with what we have, rather than twisting.
Oh yeah he's infinitely better than Pellegrino who's one of the worst permanent PL managers ever but we're still bang average and our top scorer can't play. Plus you're better than last season, doubt we'll be silly enough to have a go today but hope we can at least carry a threat on the break. Hoping for a front 3 of Redmond, Long and Mo which should be capable of breaking quickly.
It's not actually I genuinely fear a hammering today if you score early You are due a dodgy home result though so you never know. At least you know I'm not the sort to take the piss too much if we did pull off a shock
Never thought it for a moment. You'd better hope none of your players play well, otherwise you know where they'll be next year.
well we have been wasting so many opportunities this season you better hope we don't get it fully right as when that happens someone will get a thrashing. Personally think this may well be closer than many think as you won't give us space behind .Thankfully we are now a bit better set up to deal with counter attacks so i predict 2-0 which should ensure any score but that is possible.
