  1. I get the EU's red lines and totally understand them but there's a difference between standing by treaties and being downright rude and insulting to the PM of an existing Member State. Very disappointed in Tusk - his behaviour was positibvely childlike yesterday. Still if thousands of EU citizens lose their jobs in a no deal scenario then I'm sure they'll find the jokes about cakes and cherries a great comfort.....

If that was a woman in any other environment, every feminist group, Sharmi Chakrabarti, rainbow BBC all other media and organisations would be up in arms.....But because it is a female Tory Prime Minister who is taking the UK out of the EU it's okay?
The EU heads treated her disgustingly and people want to stay in this club?

THE FAILING BBC News Channel has lost 36% of its viewers since 2012, Politicalite can reveal.
The 24-hour news channel may want to change its slogan from Britain’s ‘Most Watched’ to Britain’s ‘Most Abandoned” news channel as data shows the publicly funded outlet has LOST a big chunk of its viewers.
According to data from Statisa, the channel has lost a big chunk of its viewers.
BBC News Channel, originally called BBC News 24 was launched in November 1997 and was available to digital terrestrial, satellite and cable television subscribers and Rupert Murdoch even tried to ‘shut it down.’

When it was launched, Rupert Murdoch’s Sky objected to the breaking of his monopoly and even went to the, yes – the European Courts to try to ‘shut down’ the channel.
Sky claimed that cable operators had been forced to carry News 24 in favour of Sky News, but the EU ruled against poor old Murdoch and in September 1999 the EU said that the publicly funded channel was NOT unfair and illegal under EU law.

The Commission ruled that the licence fee should be considered state aid but that such aid was justified due to the public service remit of the BBC and that it did not exceed actual costs.
The channel beams live from the BBC’s multi-million newsroom in Broadcasting House.
In 2017, it was named the RTS News Channel of the Year.

How do the people of Northern Ireland get to decide? It can't be done simply on the basis of which side has the majority of the population. So do they have their own referendum? If so and the republicans get a slender majority, say 52-48, on what legitimate basis could a UK government refuse to allow a united Ireland?

Has nothing to do with sexism I suspect. It's a case of a poker game where both sides are increasing the stakes massively except one side is bluffing to the last card. It would be unwise to keep noticing the British threat of No deal without noting the equally strong voices from the Continent repeating it. Our politicians have been spectacularly woeful to date. It is just possible that the EU have done their calculations and contingency planning some time ago and concluded that while there may be some short -term pain across Europe, the UK stands to lose a lot more.

A radical solution to the Northern Ireland border problem would be to let Ireland have it (saving billions) and use the money to relocate anyone over there who wants to stay ‘British’ over here.
No border problem with the EU and save a shedload of cash to boot.

Or am I being a bit simplistic :)

Yorkshire get off your remoaning anti-Tory, anti-British stance for a minute and look at the facts.
Whether you like May or not, she was basically ambushed disrespected and embarrassed by a load of EU muppets at a meeting to discuss Brexit. They then ridiculed her in tweets and Instagram.
The EU and the UK are dealing with peoples lives as you have said previously...they should then respect the person they are dealing with.
Only idiots or the people that want this to fail would say that the EU were right or May was wrong.
Deal or no deal you don't treat people like that, especially the PM of the UK. Muppets the lot of them

different thing bob. People can demonstrate against someone they don't like or agree with like Trump but leaders of the EU and heads of states ambushing a woman like they did was wrong. All it has done was to turn more people against them so they basically scored an own goal.

They went in 2 footed, studs up, gave away a penalty, in a dour game. Both sets of fans are unhappy, some a angry, others sitting back, laughing at the **** on offer that they've paid for. No one has a clue what the score is, what the result will be or if we'll even make it to full time.

TWO Muslim women were refused entry to The Ritz in London this week, Politicalite has learned.
The Five star Ritz, a true British landmark and a favourite haunt of Britain’s late great Queen Mother who died in 2001 – refused two Muslim women entry to it’s Tea Room as the pair turned up dressed in the niqab, more commonly known in Britain as The Burqa.

The incident sparked cries of ‘Islamophobia’ from the five-star ‘Royal’ London landmark, but many have also praised the hotel.
In a video posted to social media, two women who claim to be wearing the Burqa can be heard slamming a representative from the top London hotel – as they could not be identified from their photo I.D.

A Ritz employee can be heard saying: “We will cancel [the reservation] without any charges.”
A woman replies: “This is disgraceful, I’ve ordered a cake and everything.”
“It’s my Birthday, I’m not from London… I’ve come here from [the] North.”
As the Ritz employee finds out he’s being filmed, the man replies: “I won’t be able to make any comments as you are recording.”
“I’m shocked” The Muslim woman replies, throwing out the race card “Because of the religious dress we can’t enter.”

Most Brits backed The Ritz across social media with one user called Lewis saying: “Good, dress code is a dress code. First niqa next flipflops and shorts. Good on The Ritz London for standing up to the dress code.”
Gary said: “Your choice what you wear……Ritz choice who eats/drinks in their establishments. You can’t have it both ways. You are living in a country that allows you to wear what you wish and allows private establishments to set dress code rules.”
Ann, however, did not agree and said: “The place should be boycotted. There is no room in this culture for fashion fascists.”
But Lisa added: “At the end of the day if the ritz dress code is for you not to cover your face- don’t cover your face simple.”
Steve joked: “I tried to get into my local mosque last night but got refused because I would take my shoes off but I’m not making a big fuss.”

If the people of Northern Ireland vote for a united Ireland then it should happen. Whilst the majority don't want it, it stays part of the UK.
Not sure what point you're making.
