"Our starting line up, I'd like to think it was a strong one especially going forward".

    "Competition for places is good"

    Adkins post match interview.

We are ****ed if he thinks that.

I don't think he's too far wrong. We definitely have some competition except for CM but the problem is the quality of the starters and the backup!

Competition for places is okay at best. By his own admission our recruitment has not delivered his preferred targets, and we still remain 2-3 players light. This is a squad that at face value lacks on field leadership and a cutting edge. How many more times are we going to see or read we created the chances and COULD have been out of sight but..............Wigan being the latest example of wasted chances. Add to this questionable tactics, an apparent lack of a plan B, and generally bl**dy awful football to watch, Adkins should come under pressure in spite of the difficult circumstances he's working with, after all he knew what he was getting into!

It was a performance reminiscent of the good old Steve Bruce days.

The difference being Steve Bruce had hundred of millions at his disposal to buy players who could score a goal from nowhere to save his arse.

Hiding from the ball/ play is a cardinal sin for a professional footballer but I sometimes wonder when I watch him if he comes into that category . Not sure he is really suited to play in this country. Credit to de Wijs who might have had a few issues getting to grips with it here too but he's manned up and is trying to respond to how it is over here
