I’d be seriously concerned if police were arresting people for that. I know there is a problem with homophobia in football, and I am all for addressing that; but not at any price. Being a ****ing idiot shouldn’t actually be illegal.
Allegedly the booing was for a challenge on Lemina not for the Jay Rod connection as suggested by the commentator.
I was trying to work out who he was and why people were booing. Nobody around me was booing. I assumed he played for Pompey at some point or something.
Probably the same cretins who deem it acceptable to chant 'murderers' and 'victim' at the Liverpool fans on their last couple of visits. Gathered a higher number of absolute ****ing idiots in recent years.
It is a really good refit. There is a but though. Well a few buts The first thing may be ironed out but they had a lot of staff, but no one really knew what they were doing. This will come with being open a few weeks and to be honest a midweek fixture was a good chance to get up to speed. The second thing is price. Now I am not a skinflint at all, but there is a time and a place for a certain amount of money to be spent. They only have a set menu. A burger and fries and a dessert is £22.50...before you have even had a drink. I think we are looking at about £7.50 too much. I would pay happily to sit down in a ‘gastro pub’ and have a burger, fries and dessert for about £15, but £22.50 is way too much. I have 2 glasses of wine and that would be £30...before football. Just a little too much. If a family of 4 goes that is £90 - there is no kids menu. The environment is a lot better, but I would much rather get a portion of chips for £2 outside take them into the ground and get a burger for £2.50 and have beer in the ground than pay £22.50. The third thing is that the restaurant area is now ⅔ of the place and ⅓ for drinkers - from around 6:30 the other night there were queues and they were doing one in one out. That is the same as 1:30pm on a Saturday kick off. I really think more people go for a drink and maybe a bite to eat rather than the other way round at football. I think they will work this out after a few games and the price will come down - I just do not think there are enough people willing to spend that. There are loads of pubs 10-15 mins away that do the same for around a tenner and you dont have to have a set menu.
Yeah, I didn't know about that one but it's so unsurprising, there was the racism towards Redmond last year (Fulham away? probably other times as well). I know it's hardly anyone, but it still gets written about in the media. Which is why they have to f off somewhere else.
Turned his back to him, looked at him and patted his backside IIRC, don't think that he was advertising Asda....
