Morning all. Power surge at the telephone exchange knocked it out of action yesterday afternoon, and the engineers worked through the night to restore the phones and internet. The messages suggested it might be tonight before the whole area was restored, but it has just come back on.

Just a 'small procedure' but quite brutal and pretty painful...... keep out of the sun.. this is what happens years later!

Morning all. Blue skies except for the vapour trails left by the aircraft passing over at a high level. Lots to do today before I head south tomorrow. Last year I found a hotel that was very comfortable and had some of the best food that I have tasted. We will break our journey at the same hotel and hope that it really has kept to the high standards we experienced last year.

 

Just thought I'd share a sorry tale from a mate.

Pooh bear sat on a log outside his house. A fire still smoulded. As much as Pooh missed Piglet he really had enjoyed that bacon sandwich.

Another childhood illusion broken into a million pieces.

Morning all. Very grey with a stiff breeze, and rain forecast to arrive any minute. If it arrives it will save me from last minute watering. I have to pack the car then set off on the first stage of my journey south. Looking forward to finding out more about the history and people of the island.
