One of the highlights of the Away trips this season will be travelling in bleak midwinter to freezing Northern hellholes like Wycombe and Peterborough....and seeing @Clb74 in his floral Bermuda shorts. He has replaced @baraettmattesvensson as Charlton’s fashion icon. Thoughts ?
Bradford away two seasons ago was a tad chilly. People were wearing gloves and wooly hats whilst @Clb74 was wearing shorts! The strange thing is that he does not wear shorts when it is 30 degrees.
Ah the old shorts, love em. I think what amazes me is 90% of people only wear them between May- September. The year elfs is talking about with Bradford was quite a warm autumn/winter. In the October had been to bath for a few days and wife was dropping me over for a home game. Now the temps had been high teens early 20s Celsius shorts weather, now a lot of people would be wearing shorts in the summer when it might of been colder. Bradford away 2 years ago December game, me and a mate decided no matter what the weather we were going in shorts. Extremely mild for that time of year and also done Southend on new years eve in shorts. The Bradford game it was that warm when getting back to brom south I topped up indoors with shorts and shirt on. Last point of order there's been a couple of times, not that you'd notice I've lent elfs a pair of shorts as a pair of trousers
Our record away win, a game I went to as well. A relief I did not bump into Mr van Gerwen to ruin the day. I went back in the club shop after the game and bought another programme and team sheet. The following home game I got all six scorers to sign the programme and the entire squad plus Chris Powell to sign the team sheet. A few weeks later both were put in frames and now take pride and place in my spare room.
