The thing about that cartoon is we are told it’s racist because of the big lips. Then I think of cartoons, caricatures etc, don’t they all have big lips? Did Spitting Image not make their fortune off this very look? Sensitive is not the word.
Thanks for that Warm Pouch. I was really wondering why this cartoon was considered racist at all because it was an excellent caricature of her: I never considered the size of her lips. So, I looked at the first image that came up relating to this incident... please log in to view this image ...and I still wonder.
If anything it is racist against Osaka as they've whitewashed her in the pic. Bar that the picture is spot on. Thought women wanted big lips now-a-days anyway...
Yes its an alarming craze where women suddenly all want to look like the female puppet off that weird kids TV show The Riddlers. They look ridiculous. I think someone has overheard some blokes talking about how a certain girl has amazing blow job lips and decided to get some for themself. The weird thing is I can think of at least 3 girls I know who have all had this done, and they were fit or at least had a very pretty face before they decided to ruin it by sticking a couple of flotation arms bands on it.
I would love my lass to try it to see if it made a difference like, but struggling to find a decent segway into that conversation

I posted about this on our forum too - thought it was horrendous the way she went on. If my kids behaved like that they get a proverbial arse kicking! Sexism and racism are only relevant if your Female or Black/Ethnic Minority seemingly! My sister in law is a big style feminist - but loves the new Wonder Woman film as it shows the "empowerment of women" Totally brushed over the fact that these women all had more skin on show than olympic swimmers and that was done to keep us men interested! I don't follow tennis but had been under the impression that it was one of those nicey-nice, polite sports like cricket and dressage. Obviously not. People (rightly) complain about the poor discipline and lack of respect shown to referees in football but premiership managers regularly get fined significant sums for suggesting that a referee showed a bias for or against a team or a player. I couldn't guess what punishment would be handed out for calling a referee a "lair" and a "thief". Regardless of whether or not white men get away with more than black women, the idea that anyone should think that a referee was potentially in the wrong for issuing a penalty for being called a liar and a thief is amazing and shows the sport has gone way off the rails.
Totally agree. What astounds me is the fact that Serena did have people like Billie Jean King and the Head of the Women's Tennis Professionals supporting her or at least initially supporting her before slight back tracking and claims that Serena had raised important issues which is all she really was trying to do in the first place...
The dangers of social media I suppose. So many people are so quick of the mark to be at the forefront and stay relevant. With that comes inevitable hasty comments. Social media is never slow to point out the hypocrisy or stupidity of a remark too. Live by the sword...
