To be fair, although the youth set up can't take credit for developing them from the offset, it can take credit for attracting them and finishing the job
Based on the fact the facilities are 100x better, the coaches are better quality, the league they play in is a higher standard, the behind the scenes help is better, the of the field support is more in-depth and there is actually funds being spent on it.... How anyone can say it's not lightyears ahead of where it was obviously has know actual knowledge of how the set up was and is now. I know you hate Allams as do us all, but this is the only thing that will be in a better state when they leave then it was when they started
Go watch the matches. Isn't it obvious. Everyone knows the investment made. Billy hoof Russell on ideal standard or what we have now.
Yes I absolutely have no knowledge of how it was then and now. That's the problem. Do you have knowledge of it or are you just stating everything is better because that's what we're told? How can either of us actually observe any of this for ourselves?
How many coaches back then? How many now? We're playing at a higher level now instead of semi pro teams. You know it's important to play at a high level as possible don't you. I reckon you're just going to say no no no no no.so I'll leave it after this.
As far as their facilities are concerned, there's no comparison, Ideal Standard was a field with an old clubhouse (a grotty version of our current first team training facilities) whereas Bishop Burton's facilities are brilliant.
What does it cost us to use BBs facilities? Or was there an outlay to help develop them? And most importantly, how much was offset by the increase in funding that being Cat 2 supposedly brings in? Not expecting you to give me all the answers OLM, but that's the crucial point before we should rush to give the ****ers credit for blessing us with a wonderful academy system.
I've no idea what Bishop Burton costs us, though ironically, making the Airco an academy only facility probably cost them a lot on top. Watford recently downgraded their academy from Cat 1 to Cat 3, as they believed it would make little difference to the development of their players, but would save them £1.8m a year.
The FSF @The_FSF The FSF will be supporting Hull City fans with a survey that aims to collate supporter views on concessionary pricing. The survey will be transparent and results will be made public. We're currently working with @HullCityST to create it and will launch in the near future.
I was involved in the youth set up both playing and then later coaching. Still know coaches and staff there now and talk frequently. We are honestly so much better now then we ever have been. It's the once plus out the whole sorry allam affair
The academy may never reach the success stories such as Southampton's, but I agree it is better now than it was. As galling as it is to give any credit to the gruesome twosome, on this alone they got something right. ****, can't believe I wrote that. Need a lie down now.
Makes sense and I'm amazed that if there was a chance to save some money, ala Watford as mentioned above, that they haven't. That a few Lambourghini's or a modest yacht at least.
And they might have some way of doing that. When they go. Then the New owners will have to do it and let's hope they do it even better and we get to cat 1.
