Terrible ref....as usual. Minimum of 4 minutes added time and he blows after 3 and a half. Consistent fouling by the Italians- what else is new - but no yellow for them but Roles gets a yellow for taking a free kick before the ref blows his whistle ???? Like to see those penalty calls again. Missing the likes of Edwards, Shashoua and Bennets
Not long after, an Inter defender kicked the ball away from a Spurs' free kick. The ref decided that was just worth a lecture. No logic can make sense of that, apart from being a complete 'homer'.
1-1 and Parrott red carded again. Frankly, I thought the first booking was a red card offence and the penalty was a dive from him. The second yellow for a challenge on the 'keeper was misdirected at best. At worst, he 'did him' intentionally, so he can have little complaint at being sent off. A second red in as many weeks speaks of a highly combative attitude, which is good. Let's hope he can keep himself on the pitch a bit more.
So a bit of work needed to make Troy Tempest into Troy Parrott. As always, some valuable lessons learned by the kids about refs in UEFA land. But the important thing : did not lose away.
Barca? I wonder if we've considered a small stadium for the youth players? A lot of the continental clubs seem to have one, as do City.
Half time score: 2-0 (Parrott, Richards) Full time score: 9-0 (Parrott x3, Richards x2, White, Bennett, Markanday, Clarke) I believe the word they're thinking of is "Spursy"...
Best send our scouts to look for the sort of players who can do that. I hear there's some useful-looking players at Baleares and Excelsior...
On the plus side we won, while keeping up our habit of one side scoring a multiple of three... ...but on the minus side, I'll let SpursOdyssey handle this one 22nd minute: Amos went down chasing a ball and had to go off for an enforced change with Bennett coming on. 35th minute: Harrison was caught by a defender and had to go off and be replaced by Duncan who went into centre midfield with Roles going up front. Oh well, here's hoping the U18s don't add a few injured to the list...
