Well she obviously was stupid enough to say it, clearly not the only stupid thing she has done in the last few years. The German public have clearly lost faith in her abilities.

You quote the Express but the story broke on the BBC by a highly respected journo.

The decision to leave the EU was taken by the UK public, it has nothing to do with the views of foreigners.

Published with MAC report: fiscal analysis finding that average EEA adult contributed £2,300 more to UK public finances than the UK average person in 2016/17; each extra EEA migrant will make average net contribution of approx £80,000 over their lifetime. The non-EU immigrant however takes £840 from public finances. This is the group that the government has always had total control over.

I would like the EU to massively reform to enable the reverse of German domination to take place and put an end to the suffering of millions who live in poverty in Southern Europe due to policies designed in Brussels.

Thankfully after Brexit the UK government will have control enjoyed by most countries in the world without interference from an outside body.

    Nick Clegg :emoticon-0102-bigsm

Anything that idiot says will have the same effect that Obama had on the referendum, the opposite.

Has the EU had any control over the non-EU immigration to the UK? We know they haven't, so why has the government failed to control numbers of this group?

Well let's man up here shall we Robinson and Kuenssburg are both Tory supporters.....

This quote has been around for a couple of years... google it... just resurfaced as party of the latest posturing

Merkel is also quoted as saying that Germany recognises the pressing importance of coming to a deal.....

I must say you are really acting as a joker yourself with all these throwaway comments and jibes... .worthy of the tabloid mentality....

Well you do bring a lot of amusement to us on here...but I guess that is why you behave the way you do?

After due consideration of the earlier text by Hornet-Fez, I can now say that I concur - it really is like arguing with the Flat Earth society, nay worse ! Just put France and the UK. together, their populations, their GDP. their payments, everything - would that not have been enough to more than balance out the role of Germany ? In fact any combination of 2 countries could do the same. But this would have involved Britain working together with France - and if your views of the French are anything like those of the average Brexiter, then it is plain to see why that didn't happen. The other point is - when did the British Government stick up for the interests of Southern European countries whilst being members of the EU ? Never if I recall - in fact Switzerland (despite not being a member) contributed more in financial terms. How strange also that you now align yourself with those countries in the South - I have even seen you quoting Varoufakis, quite forgetting how you used to speak about his ideas. But hay ho, villians can become heroes, and heroes become villians very quickly in the World of SH.

So, having criticized someone for describing someone else as a clown - you now do something very similar about a leading politician of much experience, and who also speaks 5 languages fluently. Who is as much at home in French or German as in English, and is far closer to knowing what is going on in the EU. than you yourself are.

The only joker is yourself tambourine man, you seem unable to get any facts right. Merkel may have issued threats before but this one was recent, ok, it is now outdated from last night . :emoticon-0102-bigsm

The UK has control of non UK immigration and will soon also have control over EU immigration on the same basis. Hopefully the post Brexit UK government will make much use of short term contracts and decide on the criteria to allow full residency.

Well if the control shown is similar as you believe, we will have a lot more coming from the EU.

It was reported last night.... but go back two years she was stating the same thing... we just cant exit will all the prizes for no payment.

Can you tell me why you have to be so abusive?

The reality is if you were to speak to me like this in a pub I would struggle to give you the respect and time I give you on here.

EXPLAIN please your abuse of all, be they posters on here or politicians etc, that you disagree with.

Yes, allowing unemployed, mainly the young, who have no hope of a job in their respective EU countries, a short term work visa to fill jobs is a good idea. It is much better than being on the scrap heap in Greece, Spain, Italy and France.

Yesterday JLR announced a cut to a three day week because of reductions in sales, although not in Slovakia. Today BMW are bringing forward their annual close down from the summer to the 1st April 2019 for at least four weeks. Honda also giving out warnings today about just in time deliveries as they are serviced by 350 lorries a day, and only hold stocks sufficient for one hour. It will create plenty of doubts for the workers about their future after Brexit.
