so he was offered 180-200k per week. he took about 300k form psg its reported.

we must also remember that the tax laws in france and uk for high earners are different.

I just get a feeling that PSG are throwing a huge charm offensive at us perhaps to "dampen" down fans making anfield a hard place to come to.

Like.. they were at Hillsborough memorial yesterday laying flowers etc etc.

They don't want bus "welcomed" and the crowd baying for blood all game i suppose.

Klopp: Spurs test 'perfect preparation' for PSG

Jürgen Klopp believes the challenges Liverpool overcame to beat Tottenham Hotspur represent ‘perfect preparation’ for Tuesday’s Champions League opener versus Paris Saint-Germain.

A performance Klopp declared their best of the season so far enabled his side to make it five wins from five Premier League outings this term by defeating Spurs 2-1 at Wembley on Saturday.

Focus within the Reds’ camp has now switched to Europe, with French champions PSG visiting Anfield as Group C gets under way this evening.

And Klopp has stressed the importance of his players once again being on their mettle if they are to quell the attacking threat brought by the likes of Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Edinson Cavani.

“It [the Tottenham match] was the perfect preparation actually for the game against PSG because I think similar things will be needed in that game,” the manager told Liverpoolfc.com.

“We need to be really ready to defend them well when they ask us because wow, what a strong side they are. You should avoid too many situations in and around our box because there is the biggest quality of them.

“Whatever they do is at the highest, highest speed and all that stuff [and] the offensive line of Paris is pretty exciting and they have a lot of quality, not only there but especially there, so it’s very important that we will be in all our defensive things on our highest level.

“That’s actually what I liked in the game against Tottenham, because especially in that part it was our best game [of the season].

“It was different to all the other games obviously, because Tottenham is a different team so we had to do that, but that was actually always one of our biggest strengths so we did pretty well. If we could do better that would be really cool, because probably we need to.

“But the Champions League is there to face teams like that. You cannot expect to qualify for the Champions League and then want to have a group where people don’t know where the city is of the other teams!

“Everyone knows where Paris is, obviously, and everyone knows about their power on the pitch so it’s a challenge - but I’m really looking forward to it.”

I will be interested to see if PSG exploit what spurs were trying to but failed miserably at CM.

MNF had carra basically showing what spurs were at and how they should have killed us.

Apparently (and i only partly agree) we play really really narrow and spurs plan was to kill us wide with full backs pushed on. NowSalah doesn't defend. TAA is on his own unless CM helps but mane does cover deeper.

So it will be interesting to see what klopp lines up with tonight and then see what real midfield quality from PSG does to our set up.

My own feeling is spurs were trying to toss long balls over our back line and that tactic really failed. their two CMS were poor as well and the main issue we had was eriksen getting on ball and spraying it around.

Tottenham were over confidence, being the only London team Klopp yet to beat on their own ground, and having in mind also what happened
    last season.
