I think we did, once. But they were amateurish, even a bit ****, very British, bit of a laugh. Another gripe, far worse than the light shows and flames; playing music at full blast right up to kick off, and the moment the whistle blows. How about giving the fans a chance to create an atmosphere - which was **** tonight btw.
How many times does that bloody happen. We don't capitalise on our chances when we are dominating and then we fluff it. It is bloody infuriating
I have always thought about it but does atmosphere even build before ko anymore? Half the Northam are still in the concourse
Don't remember your knives being quite as sharp when Pellergino was strangling the life out of our squad. Seems a tad harsh to be out for Mark so soon.
Eh, really? Pretty sure every Saints fan to a man, woman and child was very keen to see the back of MP. And, if it was aimed at me, I am not 'out for Mark'. I'd just like to see him take some responsibility and stop blaming referees. He's done it for years, at loads of clubs, and it is particularly classless. We have bigger issues than who gets appointed to our games.
Alex Ferguson. One of the greatest managers in the history of the game. What do you think he would have had to say about tonight’s ref?
Feels like we have a few fans who want him to fail just to get the 'I told you' plaudits. Might be worth backing him for a dozen games.....at least. No blame today from me. Our mental weakness needs therapy.
Really good 1st half. PEH excellent, Nathan continues to play well. I wonder how much the teams mental frailty isn’t helped by fans mental frailty. The saints crowds i remember from days of yore sang louder when the opposition scored. (Ask not what saints can do for you but what you can do for saints) We are still better than last season though
The atmosphere at home is always bloody useless. Not sure what you get for going now as I went to the first two games and found the atmosphere less exciting than the one I managed to get in my front room tonight, simply by having the tv on in the background...
Just got home. Good first half. PEH and Lemina dominated midfield, Vestergaard did a job on the CHEATING FOULING TWAT Murray and Redmond was scaring the hell out of them whenever he got the ball. Then we stopped passing him the ball. And the midfield evened itself out. We brought Gabbi on, played him alongside (the exhausted) Ings (who once again showed some beautiful touches in the game) and went long ball to Gabbi. In fairness he did actually beat Duffy in the air once, which made me chuckle. Sorry, but at the game it felt like the ref was a horror - gave us very little against a very physical Brighton side.
By the way, if anyone is feeling bad, a punter lost out on his £89k accumulator because he had us to win and we let it go. He/she feels worse!
I agree with this post. There were moments in the last 25 mins of the first half where we were terrific. I thought Redmond played well and the midfield looked really decent by the end of the first half. The defence always looks ropey and we fortunate that Brighton offered absolutely nothing in the first half. Had se scored two goals, I think it would have been difficult for them to come back in to the match once Ings had got the penalty. I just felt that last night showed two sides of Saints' character. The defending was woeful at the end and in the second half, the midfield lost control of the match. In the end, Brighton were worthy of the draw and had we conceded the penalty earlier, I have no doubt that we would have lost last night's game. In the end, it was a fair result.
