He shoved him ad he was behind him. It looked like zonal to me with Dunk and Duffy both running into Vestergaard/McCarthy area. Long was more the disruptor at the edge of the area but the shove actually got Duffy into the area quicker
Not sure what you mean? Long was picking up Duffy and then switched off so he was unmarked. Hoedt was stood infront at the freekick. Not sure who he was marking, but Long had Duffy.
On another note, and this is a really small thing I noticed but I think can make a difference, but did anyone else think we kicked off too quickly after the first? After the replay they showed the goal time and I'm sure it was only 40 seconds after it went in and Brighton had the ball! Like I say it sounds small but I think we need to be a bit more 'streetwise' at times and it's worth taking 30 seconds to compose yourselves and slightly kill momentum rather than doing it instantly and giving them the ball back straight to them
Don’t worry, soon we will have full cheerleaders and a marching band celebrating our goals. Should eat up a couple of minutes
The positive from tonight is that at least we are scoring goals, though our home form is laughable and needs to improve.
but did anyone else think we kicked off too quickly after the first? ______________- Our decision making at times is baffling. The time wasting was a bit cringe, Alex moving the ball to the other side, Ryan pretending he's 4ft and can't catch.....laughable! But, when the ref points to his watch and tells you he noticed, don't jump to the floor and ask for a decision Mario, you'll never get it! We are mentally weak, and until we get a fat slice of luck in two consecutive games, I'd suggest that is set to continue.
Liverpool thread up tomorrow @thereisonlyoneno7 ? I know it feels like we lost but we appear to have one more point than we did this morning, hey ho.
Ffs Any manager in his position would do the same... It may not be right, but it’s what any manager in the history of the game would do. So put you pitchfork back in the barn.
He can' I not sure that is quite correct. He called the penalty soft and the referee gave it, which is slightly different to the " ref cost us the points". I know you don't like Hughes, but I think 80% of managers would have called that soft (defending the player who thought it a good idea to barge a player in injury time)
