I don't agree with any of these ridiculous protests, won't make a difference. I also know we can do nothing about transfer dealings. But can we do something to protect our stadium? Newcastle United is a religion to many, and St. James' park is the church. We surely have the right to protect it. So my idea is to use the new Government petition website to get enough signatures to make parliment discuss not allowing MASS levels of advertising at traditional football grounds (e.g. St James' Park) Thoughts?

Nice thought but I can't think of a single time that these sort of signature petitions have ever done anything of use.

You need at least 100,000 signatures for it to be discussed in parliment....good luck :)

Good idea IMO. SJP is such a great stadium but Ashley is ruining it.

I reckon you could get 100,000 signitures if you try hard enough. Things can gain momentum very quickly on the internet.

Great idea, but unrealistic. I would sign it, a lot on here would, but no where near 100,000. We are the only team it seems to be totally abusing the advertisement system, so the votes would have to come from mainly NUFC, can't imagine many other fans doing it.

The only protest I do agree with, it has been mentioned before but never done, is for fans to remain inside the ground when the game has finished for a couple of hours.

Twitter and Facebook would have to be used. Could use this site and get a campaign going on NewsNow. Get Joey Barton to help, he would do anything to disrupt MA and DL.

<ok> from me. Wouldn't just be NUFC fans that'd sign it as well

Yup. Tweet it to Barton and he'd probably spread the word. I'm sure there would be a few thousand who aren't NUFC fans but would sign because they don't like what Ashley is doing, or simply cause they think SJP is a great stadium.

Petitions are a waste of time just as shouting is.

I'm sure it would get support, but could we get it to 100, 000? Will be difficult.

The difference with this is the Government could do something, and Ashley would then be breaking the law.

I think we could but we'll have to be patient.

If you can get Barton to retweet it , it might make the news , hence getting a lot of interest with many people signing it.

I say go for it , got nothing to lose.

If you're going to do it, make the petition general i.e. not just about Newcastle
